Has my Jabba power disappeared?

Featured Replies

I drive mine like a granny most of the time but the power is always there when I throw a wobbly and boot it. Logic would have it that the ECU would think 'WTF' (not to be confused with 'What? WOT?) and leave me flat-footed. But my car is still a relative youngster of course. :)

Its funny about the ECU being adaptive because i find that sensible driving and then wanting to go brisk - the car is definitely slower. When driving quick - the pick up is considerably increased. I have also found that when on the motorway driving at ( hyperthetically ) 100mph plus with regular slow downs because of beamers lol, that acceleration upwards to 140 is very impressive. I also notice a difference when using shell optimax compared to tesco's own.

agree completely. mine is always best when on a thrash up and down the motorway.

Jabba's very useful information now forms the basis of an Article on this particular problem.

all octys are 3.0 bar fpr as std.. revo can map to 4bar

:slap: for not reading the question..... :D

fpr = fuel pressure regulator. FP was presumably being used as an abbreviation for fuel pump. 2 separate things.

Which begs the question: If the FP produces 3bar, and the standard FPR is also 3bar, what is to be gained by fitting a 4bar FPR?

Fuel pressure on the 1.8T's is FPR pressure plus boost pressure. That's why my pump only showed up it's problem at peak boost in performance mode. AFAIK the pumps themselves aren't rated to a certain pressure but more to how much fuel they can actually pump.
