New Beetle....

Featured Replies

It's official, the yanks really are freaks............

And quite ugly to!

How can you get so excited over a silhouette?

Apart from this one -

I heard something about this - VW USA have given away 1000 Beetles for some reason - can't remember why now either!

yes the Americans are a little strange!

I quite like the New New Beetle (Is this what it will be called lol) though - I think it looks a lot better and more defined and a move away from the 3 half circle bubbles of the old design.

Still not a "man's" car though is it?

I can't see many men saying. No I won't get a scirocco I'll get a new new beetle.

Can you?

i think VW narrowed down the market on the previous model by adding the stoopid flower, Elton John would be the only 'man' (and I use the word losely) who would buy one! :giggle:

True!

The american marketeers equivalent of 25 virgins waiting for you on the other side 1

25 Desperate housewives - talk about self-brain washing.

No doubt we europeans will be paying for this in the same way that we "Paid" for the last re-unification :- high oil consumption, failing ARBS, leaking doors, crap EGR valves, sticking air con temperature control valves as the prices paid to subbies for parts are whittled down to pay for this.

The Americans in the OP's post were all given a free Beetle. I think I'd be quite happy about that, even if only for the resale value.

I quite like the design of the new New Beetle. It's definitely more masculine than the previous effort, and they've cut 10 feet off the length of the dash to the windscreen.

They're still freaks! :p

And the new beetle just looks like a 911 that ate ALL the pies instead of only some of them!

A free VW - Curate's egg? Its the states, so the audience were probably hired by the Ad agency.

Given the reputation and market penetration (Ooops !) of the last incarnation of the Beetle in Europe, no wonder VW are trying to flog it to some of the most informed consumers in the World (!!!). Wait a minute, lets get this straight, you got lady drivers + A new model car + VWs current problems with the compatibility of american spec engine oils with its engines. . . . . . "Fair well and adieu, my fair Spanish Ladies . . ".

As said before, marketeers will rise and we'll be paying for the class action claims in poor quality parts.
