stage 1+/2 remap now installed on the vRS

Featured Replies

Good read up janner... I will have to look into the Shark maps once I have my car and driven it for a bit.

Be interesting to see if people get issues with DSG and the higher torque although yours seems to be spread out really well so not like a PD unit where its all in one bloody lump!! :D

Not too far from you so will have to see it ;)

just for completion of the thread, im pretty certain the mpg is on average a good 3-5mpg up in every situation.

Easily hitting 47mpg @ cruise on the motorway. never dropping below 33mpg on the mornings commute, and not below 37mpg on the evenings commute, thats at town speed in heavy traffic with lots of stop/start. had a very sprited drive for 270miles from plymouth to kent the other night and was particularly brutal off all the round thoughout the A303 and on overtakes though the lanes etc etc, and it still returned an average of 32mpg over the entire journey. For comparison in my octavia driven the same id have been below 20mpg easily.

Im over the moon with the economy, especially with the type of cars i can quite happily play around with all day long. Its upset a few people in their 'hot' hatches now.

Iwill add though that im asking ben to drop the torque down a little on my map just for peace of mind as ill be fitting an induction kit as well to free up a little more power above 5k, but i dont want a torque rise as well.

any idea how much longer Forge and Milltek need for a good Exhaust system / intercooler

  • Author

miltek any time now i guess, forge not to sure tbh thy said in their sub forum that any time soon

yeah lets hope soon .

well most parts are only MOT aproved arent they ?

will be hard to drive them Legaly on the German Roads

I know that there is already a custom exhaust-system available from "Rays Metallfabrik" here in Sweden.

Guess how I know that ;)?

ordered the Forge Intake 2 days ago , and got told today i need to wait at least 4 weeks since iam the first Person who ordered it and some parts need to get powder coated.

so much for early chrismas ...

That is very impressive, is it still totally driveable?

I know that my poweroutput is really smooth and even , got alot more punch tho so you'll notice the difference if you are used to the car =).

YIKES! 4 weeks for some powdercoating? Must be the worlds slowest drying paint then x)

yes , iam still wondering that iam the first person for the intake.

Hmm , very strange since obviously there is atleast one kit (which they even demo with on a car in a video :) )

iam still hoping they are wrong since the woman i had on the phone didnt had a clue about what i was asking .

and wtf they need to powder coat on the intake?

Sy, It's still a Homomobile but it's just now a fast Homomobile

any good 0-60 stage 2 times out? Seen a few for the Cupra's but not many people seem to be mapping the Fabia..

I don't have any times out on my stage 1+ , but I do have a youtube-video off it.

Notice tho that A. TCS is on and B. It's driven in automatic and finally C. the software hadn‘t adapted yet :

Dunno about the time really but it does feel quicker now compared to when I filmed it!

shark performance did some timing with it at stage 1 before the exhaust and map was adjusted again.

0-62 sub 6 seconds consistently. 0-100mph su 14 seconds consistently. Once i sort an intake out ill be looking at potentially a 10Hp gain across most of the rev band so with that and the exhaust and stage 1+ map it'll be notably quicker.

im used to the power already though lol.

Need to sort the handling out first because it rolls like a yacht, and really doesnt like bumpy roads

wondered how long it'd take for the abuse lol.

why is it a homomobile? im lost...

I think it's jealousy off that we get alot more power from much less effort x).

That, jealousy or irony.

Not too bothered about the roll (although reducing it would be good) - it's the lumpy ride on the roads around here that's the main problem. Although it has twice the horsepower of my courtesy Fabia donkey I was riding around in for a few days - it's impossible to put the power down as effectively as the donkey did.

I'm thinking coilies but don't want to spend too much.

Last time I embarked on suspension shenanigans it was Koni FSD+Eibach which worked well, but was expensive and still left a fairly lofty ride height.

With the VRS you can almost fit a Mk1 VRS in the gap between the tyre and the wheel arch, and not convinced FSDs will fix that.

Will be interesting to see what you're planning...

not really me and carl always wind each other up. Plus his car makes the same power as standard and upto around 300hop when mapped, so hardly jealousy guys.

Also mine's a proper car and not a gay half car/shopping basket
