thoughts & opinions after 5 months & 20k

Featured Replies

Thought I just add my comments on my Superb Combi after making it work for a living (20K)over the last few months

First the negatives

1) I Find th driving position a bit too "Italian" (bit like an old Fiat Short legs long arms) the steering wheel could do with being able to come out about another inch.

2 ) The load area in the back is narrow, even my X Type Jag was about 4" wider

3) Carpets could be better quality

4) Fuel tank is too small

Now the Positives

1) Fuel econamy averaging about 45mpg

2) Decent service interval (makes a difference on hi milage use)

3) Seats are very comfortable - Livingston to Milton Keynes in one go - no numb bum or back ache at all

4) Build quality and finish very good

5) Standard equipement very good

6) Columbus Sat nav etc has been excellent, 7 digit post code hasn't let me down yet!

7) Overall carrying capacity of car with rear seats down is excellent, just been to Dublin for an exhibition and everything was in the car. Last time we went with the Jag I had to use a roof box as well (Just a bit wider in the load area please to make it perfect!)

8) Rear leg room (nuff said) Daughters' Fiance is 6'5" and loves it

9) Handles well for a car of its size and as a motor way cruiser its stable and quiet.

10) Headlights, WOW, about the best I've had

11) Dealer service is first class (Wayside in Milton Keynes) both in the sales and service dept) on visits I've had for service have been for a couple of sillies that were sorted imediately whilst I had a free coffee

12) Interior lighting and the down lights in the mirrors (has prevented a couple of winter car park paddling episodes)

13) And probily the best, The look on peoples faces when when they get in and ask what make the car is!

As you can gather I have been well impressed so far, the car has had no problems, the only visits to the dealer have been when the service warning came on just below 12k and called in and was sorted imediately (human error on the PDI) and a reset on the tyre pressure monitor on the 2nd day I had it, service manager gave instruction on what to do, must learn to read manuals!:giggle:

looking forward to see how it performs over the next two and a half years
