Looking for my first Fab Vrs - few Q's

Featured Replies

Howdy,

I've always fancied a Fabia Vrs and not yet owned one, but I face a change of role at work which means I'll be doing 20 to 30k miles per year for a couple of years - so from an economy point of view now seems like a good time to get my first.

Having owned four MKII Octy VRs's, I like the reliability and so want a modded car that will remain reliable. So how do the miles on remapped cars impact on the dual mass flywheels?

I'm only looking for minor mods, rather than hybrid turbos and the like, but would the DMF be likely to survive 40k+ with the increased torque from a remapped car, with basic mods like exhaust, intake etc?

I know the Fabia isn't the biggest car in the world, but seems a fine motorway cruiser at 80MPH - will I achieve 50mpg (or near) at those sort of crusing speeds?

Finally, if anyone knows of any nice cars, modified or standard, that are going at the moment please feel free to point me in the right direction, there's a couple in the classifieds and several on Autotrader and the like, but I'd prefer to pick one up from another Briskoda owner really

70mph *wink wink* i average in mine which yes is standard around 56mpg.

recently done a 500mile trip in 2 days and averaged around the 60mpg mark but was all motorway.

i know its not the best of answers but its a start lol

That's helpful, as long as around 50mpg is achievable that's great.
