Featured Replies

evening all, im after some advice really. i currently have all the standard stereo components in my fab. can someone tell me what sizes in mm or inches the front speakers, rear speakers the tweeters in the rear doors are etc? as im thinking of upgrading to better quality componets as i dont want to take the door cards off yet until i have new bits.

please help.

thanks.

Just done mine 13 cm don't bother with the rears, just fade to the front! But you need shallow speakers to fit where the oems did. I didn't but did things a bit differently!

cheers for the advice mate. im going to do rear speakers anyways to maximise sound quality. hpw you mean do things differently?

I put the cross over and speakers actually on the door card to show them off, so that got around the depth of the speaker problem, looks good as well!

You can fit a "6", aka a 165mm in the front doors. You'll need a spacer or the magnet will hit the window bar/guide. I think mine uses modified Golf mk4 adapters.

I like Stealth looks personally (don't like the above photos..but give him his due, nice install on getting wires between the OEM speaker grill slots!)

I didn't bother with front..just reused all the OEM, but replaced the rears with a set of dual cone Pioneers 10cm round in square frame (still using the OEM tweeters..so 6 in all!!)...Also fitted a 4x 50w Pioneer single DIN headunit with very good sound equilizer!! B)

Don't get me wrong my install won't be to every ones taste!

I agree....but a full on proper 2 way cross over network and all Kenwood ALPINE components....that must sound :thumbup:B)
