Speedo problems

Featured Replies

Hey peeps got a fabia 1.4 16v comfort estate and basically the speedo and rev counter are sticking. Best I can describe the problem is that its like watching a second hand on an old clock  anyways I've had the sensor under the gear box changed as that was broken snapped in two when the mechanic took it out £120 later and its still doing it  So any help would be much appreciated  As I'm now totally out of ideas with what to try next :(

Thanks in advance :)

probably needs a new cluster mate. The only other thing you can try is plugging in VCDS and running the instrument output checks and see what happens.

Been thinking that myself searched on google for guides on how to remove it and found nothing so far is it easy?

Reason I think its the dash is by the looks of it a previous owner has blocked up some of the lights behind the speedo as you can only see a tiny part of the traction control light so something is blocking it been tampered with me thinks

Any guides kicking about on how to remove?

To remove, drop steering wheel to lowest height and full rake. Prise off plastic cover between top of steering column and dash. Remove two screws, pull dash forward and remove dash plugs.

Sounds easier than I thought I'll give it a bash asap :)

Hopefully none of the blocked out lights are things like ABS or ECU fault, you could find these on once you sort the cluster out in which case you have another issue to sort and how safe is that car.
