Scout owners - rear bumper guard shared order

Featured Replies

I'm ordering an alu look rear bumper guard for my Scout from Superskoda in June.

Link to item on Superskoda

The postage is around 30Euro for 10 - only a couple more Euros than for 1! Plus they charge 2.8% for using paypal

I've suggested a group buy to split the shipping cost on this thread

The way it'll work is I'll get an exact price via their cart before ordering & confirm to those on the list the cost via private message.

They then send me the cost for their guard & their portion of the postage via paypal. Once I have the funds in I'll place the order.

Once they arrive I will repack & invoice via Paypal for the UK postage & mail out on receipt.

To keep it simple I'll restrict it to this item only.

Maximum of 10 guards (being an ebay seller I have enough 'bagging & tagging' to do!)

I will only ship to UK addresses. Collection ok too.

I'll inform everyone on the list 9 June the cost excluding UK postage.

I'll place the order for those who have paid on 14 June.

I'll not be responsible for any delays but will cc all takers in any correspondence with Superskoda & will utilise Paypal's buyer protection if needed.

Sound ok?

Not wanting to be the Devils Advocate here but please be aware that I once had problems with this company and PayPal couldn't resolve it leaving me initially with faulty goods and a non responsive seller!

No doubt the total for this GB will be over £100 so I would suggest using a credit card with PayPal (does this give extra protection with PayPal though?) just in case of any problems.....

Hopefully your GB will proceed smoothly.

Assuming you are having one rosswm I'll take the second!

Aye - saw that post before but balanacing that with the good reports & the fact these are not working parts I'm cool to proceed - for now.

I think if seller doesn't provide tracking numbers now paypal will back the buyer. Works that way on ebay.

I'll add a list to copy & paste:

There is a pinned thread at the top of this forum called "Scout Owners Register".

If we struggle to make ten it may be worth a quick PM to those on the list!?

I'm happy to go for it with 2! I may grudgingly have gone solo. I need the guard to cover up a current scuff as well as to prevent others.

Count me in

Me too. Does anyone know if the colour is in the moulding or just a coating (may show black through if scratched)?

May be worth asking Tmos in the original thread as he has one:

With 6 of us the postage is already less than 5 Euro!

Count me in.

Just for info, I have found this,Rearguards the company also do one specifically for th vRS and hatch as well. Seems a tad expensive if you want the silver, which I do!

Thanks everyone. If anyone wants to drop out just copy & paste a new list so someone else can join in. Sorry about the 10 limit but if I don't draw a line I could struggle to get them out to everyone in a timely manner.

I'll drop everyone a PM on 9 June for the next stage.

Hi all

can't say for certain but looks as if it is coloured throughout the piece. The very same design as the photograph of the 4x4 below, It does very closely match the silver metallic finish on the roof rails and front and rear guards.

With a little care and patience you can get a very close tight fit. VERY IMPORTANT Get yourself some good alcohol wipes or better still gel and thoroughly clean all the contact area. The one wipe provided is too small. You will take a lot of grime and dirt off, especially if it has been coated with a few layers of polish or exterior trim lacquer.

Finally measure RE measure and ensure the surface is warm before fitting as you will not get a second chance. I'm sure all will be pleased with the end result.

Regards

I've added you to the reserve list. If no-one drops out it may be worthwhile someone from the new list doing the same group order.
