I'm trying to cut down my mileage and so far I'm failing, 900miles in 2 weeks emoticon-0104-surprised.gif

40k in 16 months from new.

Nice to have variable on the Octys, 19K on the petrol and 24K on the diesel.

24K servicing on the diesel? I wish... my second variable service is due at just under 38K (booked in for two weeks time)

24K I use to get out of the 1.9 PD 130 hp engine (A4,A3, Fabia VRS SE) so was hoping to get the same of of the Octy1 estate which we have just put back to variable from fixed. Gearing is so tall in 6th, 35 mph/1000 it is hardly working in top and I presumed that helped longer service intervals etc.

117k on my Octavia vrs, been running well over 300bhp since 50k :)

I was so tempted to buy your car when it was up for sale. Amazing car for the money and fantastic that it is still going strong after so many miles.

My 06 plate Mk1 vRS is on 49k at the moment.

46K miles and it's broke :'(

Just gave it a wash......

Just gave it a wash......

sorry,posted in wrong topic.........

04 fabia vRS over 102k remapped from 12k and still on the original clutch.

59 Octavia combi vRS about 11k dont really use it that much

07 Roomster is on 75k, 53Fabia Vrs on 34K

Had my Octavia VRS for a few days now. It's on 24k. And considering it's a 56plate I think that's stupid low mileage! Got it for a decent price too.

Octavia 1.9 TDi Estate - August 2007 - 115,000 miles at present !!!

Still going strong

I love it, its such a monster yet nice to drive on a daily basis. :)

Did you ever get the brakes sorted out?

78,500+ on my newly acquired '97 Felicia. Bought on the 27th April with 77k on the clock - been over the country since.

Did 30,000 miles on my last car, Suzuki Swift, before scrapping at 84,000 miles. (May 2009-April 2011)

First car, Suzuki Wagon R, got it to well over 100,000; most of those miles being mine! (March 2005-May 2009)

No regrets, first two cars were very faithful servants.

4 pots are still on the cards, but got a holiday to pay for first.

I dont think the brakes are bad for normal road driving and spirited driving, just when on track i fear they wont last.

There's always something else. Mortgage, food, kids stuff. Without these, I'd be minted!

p.s. Sorry to go off topic.

p.p.s Highest mileage car I had was a 3.0s Capri with 190k on the clock and it was still going strong when I sold it. Hope the vRS gives the same sort of service.

Had a 2000 Fabia SDi which I used for driving tuition, did 135k in it and passed it on to No. 1 daughter who traded it in on a new Nissan Micra at 210k (some people have no taste!) No major problems with it at any time.

Then had a 2004 Polo SDi which I have just traded in at 173k. Again, no major problems. Not quite as well built as the Fabia (made in South Africa) but some of the materials were a tad better.

I now have a Roomster 1.4 TDi which has 21k on it (I got it with 14k in January). Nice car to drive, but it seems rather thirsty compared to the previous 2. The Skoda did 53 mpg overall, the Polo 54 mpg overall but I'm struggling to get the Roomster much over 50 mpg. The consumption at a steady 70 mph is about 51 mpg, I was getting near 60 mpg in the others. I'm not sure whether the aerodynamics are that much worse or whether the non-turbo diesel was just a much better engine. I was under the impression that the PD turbos were more economical.

Rob.

Hi My Felicia 1.3mpi Has 51k But Got it With 47k a year ago 2 lady owners and not one spot of rush on the old girl

The Fabia (2004) is just shy of 57k. Shocking.

2008 Octavia vRS TFSI 91k. Running 280bhp until 50k and ko4 300+bhp until 91k. Faults were ignition switch that was replaced under warranty. Coilpack and DV failed. Driver's side rear shock gone and front shock starting to leak oil. AC compressor is on it's way out. Apart from that it goes like hell!

Francis has approx 75 1/2 thousand miles on the clock. He is an 02 Fabia.

Oops accidently double posted.
