Yeti Leather Seats

Featured Replies

Took a load of crap to the dump on Saturday and while I was careful to place a blanket over the folded rear seats something while driving has moved and rubbed against the top back panel of the drivers seat (just below the headrest area) and has left a mark/scratch in the leather/fake leather. I cleaned it up a bit and used some leather restorer on the area but its still visible. Shows up a lighter grey than the seats are.

Any suggestion on how to remedy this?

Will try and get a pic up later.

Little bit of shoe polish/cream?

Agree, have used shoe polish (from a tin not cream which is too runny) on leather and if carefully applied fills the scratch well.

As long as you don't over apply and gently polish area away from the scratch you won't remove the filled area

and polish off the remaining so you don't get black on your clothes.

Try filling scratch with a narrow object (small stick up to 1/8" diameter,e.g. cotton bud) so you limit the amount of polish applied. Lightly apply leather protection cream to achieve an all over finish taking care not to remove the wax from the filled area..

You can buy a leather repair kit on line but for filler and leather dye/colourant is going to cost you over £50, is difficult to source in small quantities and you can make a bigger mess of it if you don't do it properly. The other option of specialist repair is going to be £70+ all of which is probably way over the top for your minor item.

Totally agree - shoe polish and cotton buds worked fine when I had to repair similar damage (and same cause!) to my Onyx seats in previous Octy Scout.

Black worked for Onyx with me.

I wonder what colour polish for Gobi?

Kiwi parade light tan if you can find some!

Thanks.
