Ford Fusions, and more bloody Ford Fusions

Featured Replies

I always thought that the Ford Fusion was a relatively low seller for Ford, being pretty ugly, IMO, and not that much more practical than a Fiesta

But every day I've been out in the car recently I've seen one, if not more, of them on the road

Haven't bothered checking sales figures, but by the number I've seen recently you'd think it was a best seller

I see 2 or 3 every day too. It's the same 2 or 3, driven by the same people, every day.

They are allowed on the road you know.

A friend of ours has one and it's horrible. It feels cheap inside and as a passenger, I felt quite travel sick due to the way it wallowed round the corners. It didn't go very well and I was glad to get out to be honest. I'm not a Ford hater in any way, just not a fan of crappy cars, whoever makes them.

I'm sorry, I don't recall where in my original post it said that they weren't :finger:

I was merely pointing out the preponderance of them :p

Funnily enough, Bryan, I seen a few around here lately.

Perhaps Fraud have just found a pile they registered years ago and then lost them? :giggle:

You running out of ideas for threads then?

Touche!

Its in their nature to stick together

I think they are ugly too! I agree Graham there are quite a few around here!

Just come back from Hungary and we had one as our hire car. There are loads out there for some reason! To be fair, it wasn't that bad - it was a 1.4 but was very sluggish but we covered over 1500 miles in it and found it fairly comfortable, even on very rough roads and it felt fairly planted to the road, even on winter tyres.

I wouldn't buy one, and can't really understand why anyone else would. They are the epitome of a car designed by and for someone with no interest or enthusiasm for cars.

Fair point. I made my comments, but am coming at it from a different perspective I guess. As a mode of transport, there are worse vehicles out there. I still felt sick though. :giggle:

Was stuck behind one today, can't see the point in the fusion it is merely a fiesta estate and a bad one at that!

Ford fusion is kind of a vehicle for the elderely and you can get a wheelchair in the back or something.

Notice it's a lot higher off the ground than a fiesta? Easy to get in and out of!

I did get told this sort of thing at my local Ford dealer once when I complained why do they sell such an ugly car.

Oap's love - small, practical and ugly.

I got stuck behind one too today Skodaboy! :wonder: An old chap and his wife going for a gentle drive I think!

Hit double figures yesterday........saw 10 of the sodding things on the drive back from Skegness

.....which helps explain why I love my Roomster

I test drove the Fusion before I bought the Roomy. I thought it dull and uninspiring, if not paricularly ugly. I, too am surprised by its popularity.

Think ford do them on the mobility scheme as well.

That would explain a lot, although I wouldn't have thought the visually-challenged would be entitled to a mobility car

My wife has a Mazda 2 which is virtually the same car but better looking. Chosen because she needed a small automatic with a big enough boot and low sill for an elderly golden retriever.

Saw a Ford Fusion today that had been lowered, with big rims on spacers. :o

It looked like a real pile of brown stuff IMO.

Not the best choice of car if you want to lower it.

A few years back my dad was thinking about a Fusion, but the salesman at the dealer swayed him onto the cheaper Fiesta, as the salesman admitted the Fusion was a jacked up Fiesta with god awful handling. They also seem to be driven by the 'almost dead' brigade, and are almost guaranteed to pull out at junctions & roundabouts without looking.....

And yes I have noticed a lot more of the vomit inducing things about lately, usually in silver! I think Ford have offloaded a shedload through their franchises recently dirt cheap. Or they probably come free when you buy a Stannah stairlift.

ISTR that the Fusion has recently been dropped (as a model), so these are probably the run-out batch appearing through the car "supermarkets".
