Seatbelt buckle

Featured Replies

Chaps, a quick question...

May car recently went in for a recall on the ignition coils.

I asked them to check the passenger seatbelt buckle - the drivers has a sleeve to protect it from rubbing the seat. The passenger one has exposed wire, with a sharp connector thing on it.

They tell me this is 100% normal, and that is how it is. is this right? I beg to differ as my wife has cut her finger on it twice!!

Yes foxed me when I first saw it. However, I have seen the same thing on other Octavias. There is at least one other thread on this subject so I am sure it is normal. Do a quick search for more info.

HTH

I wonder if it's possible to "make" some kind of protective sleeve for the passenger side?

I'm rust worried that there will be damage to the Jumbobox or passenger seat from the exposed cords on the passenger side.

Maybe a wrap of felt or double sided velcro with the wooly side facing the seat.

I can't believe skoda scrimped to save on a bit of heatshrink like the drivers side.
