MY2012 Changes

Featured Replies

Anyone care to enlighten me on what the changes to a MY2012 Fabia are?

A friend of mine ordered one a while back, it was delayed and he has been told that he will get the "Facelifted" version.

As I understand it it is a short whip ariel! and thats it.

He's not ordered the vRS so the Black pack doesnt affect him, and the updated blue seats are not part of his order.

He called me to ask today and I didnt have a clue, remember this stage in the Fabia I and it was removing rear door pins, dashboard texture, 3pt rear seatbelt etc etc.

Anybody got the full info?

Barely any changes as I understand it.

New model year starts production from week 22 (1st week of June).

I am aware that rear parking sensors are now an option on the Elegance rather than standard fit. vRS gets the black pack. Bluetec models are also being launched which are basically 1.2 TSi powered cars with greenline tech (stop-start, lowered suspension, eco tyres etc). Shorter aerial may also be fitted. No other changes as far as I know.

and probably a new badge

Probably best to ask your dealer to clarify exact changes. Until brochures released we can use our 'guess o matics' on the forums and snippets of information we have heard but dealer would be best source.

Spoke to Škoda customer service yesterday for a build date. No hope there.

I also asked about the MY12 changes. Engine tweaks and the new badge are all that will change for the Monte Carlo.

Any engine Tweens for the diesels? Why they don't have stop start on everything confuses me

What engine tweaks?

No idea what the tweaks may be, but I've ordered a diesel and this was the info I got.

Adam if there's engine tweaks will that put your insurance up :giggle:

Not if the manufacturer does it and it doesn't make the vehicle more powerful or a higher insurance group :p

i orderd my monte 6 weeks ago and i get it september time! so will it have a different badge and what other changes will be on it

does any1 no

thanks :)

Not yet ;)

I was told the new badge came before the black pack ... Week 19 my local dealer said :/

AFAIK it will not be appearing on the current fabia, current octavia, current roomster, current yeti or current supurb...

What is this 'new badge' nonsense? From my experience, companies only get new badges, logos, letter headings etc when there is a change of management that wants to make its presence felt.

I was told the new badge will be on cars built week 22 onwards.

By your dealer? as I understand it wont appear on any of the current range.

This article would seem to back that up

Yeah my dealer. Surely it would make sense to do it. It's on all the adverts, all the promotional material, letter heads, etc already. What would be the point in making a new badge for the company, going to great lengths showing it on adverts and then NOT putting it on the car? Vauxhall changed their badge not so long ago although it did come out the same time as the new Insignia.

Like I said earlier, it was Skoda Customer service that told me and not a dealer.

Why such a long wait! I ordered mine 5 weeks ago and a bit and it should be built in a few weeks

I have heard the new badge is very similar to the current one the main difference being the colour from green to grey. I guess we won't know for sure until the MY2012 cars start to get delivered.

because its a diesel 105ps and i have asked for factory extras

includeing - heated seats,maxidot,cruise control, electric windows,third headrest,armrest,mats.

i went to two dealers and they both said 25 week wait one in manchester and the other in colne

We were quoted 16 to 20 weeks at time of order but are currently sat at a build week 40 wich will make around 40 weeks from order to delivery.

Cheers

The Dealer has confirmed today my vRS will be a 2012 model so I'm 'looking forward' to: the Black Pack, a different aerial and revised badges. Woo-hoo.

Still no build week but as it was initially projected for mid-August I can't really get excited yet.

What is a black pack? My mate ordered a new vrs yesterday, 6 month wait so im guessing it`ll have these extra changes

Matt
