Quick Wheel Question ;-)

Featured Replies

Hi Guys and Girls just a quick question can I fit 17x7.5 5x100 ET38 225/45/17 to Mk1 Octavia VRS?

Thanx in advance

Can't see why not.. The standard rims are 17x7.5 anyways, and offset isn't too far off.

are the stds not 17x7?

the LCR 18 are 7.5 et 38.

spyders are 7x17 iirc but i cant see any issues with 7.5s  what size tyres you thinking mate ? :smirk:

Not meaning to hijack this thread but im currently running 205/50/17, should they not be 205/45/17?

Nope, 205/50/17 is the correct factory fit.

7.5..prffft 9s are where its at...et 30 :giggle:

what spacers are you running for them to fit?

What does it drive like?

I had 3mm (6mm total)spacers on with my Team Dynamics 18x8 et35 with 225 40 18 tyres. All I can say is it drove like a crock of s*** everything was exaggerated. and slow turning was annoying as it seemed to understeer badly just parking in the shop parking. before putting the spacers on(while I had std brakes) the TD's were good and it drove nice, a bit harder due to bigger wheels but still nice, tramlining was not an issure neither with the TD's but with Reps I had before of the same sizes It was really bad. Must be down to the weight?

put 3mm spacers on and OMG its tramlining like a goodun.

I just have one more setup to properly test now and thats the spiders with the 5mm spacers on the front. Prob be similar bad feeling but we shall see I have Toyo t1R on them in 225 45 17.

What centre bore size are they? You need 57.1 for your car
