I have an '05 Octavia Elegance 2.0 TDI DSG Hatchback with 40k on the clock.......It's a very very good car, surprisingly sporty with astonishing economy ! Sit on the motorway at 70mph stick it in cruise control and I get 65mpg, very happy with that! The car however has just developed a rubbing or grinding noise from the front nearside when turning right. I have had both front wheels off to check bearings and brakes etc etc. Still got +5mm of pad left on brakes and nothing visible sticking or jammed in disc. All rubber gaiters on driveshafts appear sound in fact everything looks nice and clean with no visible signs of damage.........Any idea's anyone ? it is becoming annoying and starting to affect my confidence in the car now !
