i called a dealership and was asked which sensor i was talking about, a multi plug or electrical loom, i asked a mechanic and he said there was only one sensor, anyhow does anyone know which is responsible for the whistling and lights flickering?

On an 01 classic your looking at the sensor with the loom included, it has a metal end and the part number was

6Q2 423 291AX although that might have changed.

thank you very much the problem has ceased for the time being and the light no longer is coming on but from reading other posts it appears once it starts then it just gets worse, any cheap genuine parts sites? thanks again
