New Yeti Faults

Featured Replies

My new 2011MY 140 4x4 Elegance has a couple or 3 faults that are because either I'm not setting it up correctly or just they just don't work.

1. The door mirrors should tilt downwards when reverse is selected. Manual not clear on which side or both, anyway, neither do.

2. Rear wiper should park on alternate sides after 2 engine stops. Setup using by 5x on contol lever. Doesn't do it mister.

3. Memory seat settings can be assigned to seperate ignition keys, P1 for Key 1, P2 for key 2. Not at home.

4. Kenwood radio/sat nave changes radio station or cd track when the steering wheel r/h scroll switch is used to operate the MFD. Very annoying. I've semi sorted this by disconnecting the steering wheel remote wire from the back of the set, but this means no remote volume or channel change from the LHS buttons that did work properly.

Can Anyone with a Bolero radio confirm what happens when the scroll switch is used? The dealer neglected to supply my Bolero after fitting the Kenwood unit before delivery.

Can anyone confirm that the above functions work or don't work on their car?

The manual has several discrepencies with fact, and sometimes disagrees as to which side things are. A consequence of having a ******ised RHD car I suppose.

For the door mirror to tilt I think you need to have the controller turned to L or R. Easy one to miss.

In the UK only on the Elegance, not the SE and below. In France, who knows?

Well I answered all these in the other forum where you posted first and that has now been deleted. So hope you got what you wanted!? To recap:

  1. Passenger side mirror is only one that drops when door button is on L on a UK car and R on a European one.
  2. Mine does it sometimes. Tick "wipe" on the Maxidot somewhere. It does appear a bit hit and miss in how it works though.
  3. There are only 3 memory settings in total for the seats/mirrors. You can only allocate one per key, thus memory 1 can go on key 1 and memory 2 or 3 can go on key 2. You cannot store different memory 1 settings to each key.
  4. The left hand scroll wheel adjust the volume and if you press it once it will activate that annoying talking computer lady that can only say Pardon, Pardon, Pardon ad infinitum.

4. Kenwood radio/sat nave changes radio station or cd track when the steering wheel r/h scroll switch is used to operate the MFD. Very annoying. I've semi sorted this by disconnecting the steering wheel remote wire from the back of the set, but this means no remote volume or channel change from the LHS buttons that did work properly.

tuppy, welcome to briskoda chap.

in answer to the bolero problems... with bolero fited

rh scroll button will change cd track/radio staion/sd card track IF you have AUDIO showing in the MFD display.

the button with the circular symbol cycles the bolero from radio/cd/sd card.

the button with the 'return' type symbol selects what you want displayed in the MFD.

to change what is displayed press 'return' button. you then have 3 options. MFD, AUDIO, SETUP.

select MFD with scroll button and press scroll button in so it clicks.

you should now have one of the MFD functions displayed. scroll through and pick the one you want.

hope this helps

The rear wiper does change sides, it moves about 10mm so the blade either lays on one edge or the other, it does not stop on the other side of the window. The front wipers do something similar.

Ah, the manual made this not clear. I'll check when it gets back to la Belle France. TY

I think it does Clive. I've played with the scroll and the clicks and all the setup in the MFD, and I'm fairly certain I don't have AUDIO in the display, as I have a Kenwood. Its beginning to look like a software problem/misalignment due to the Kenwood unit and the car system getting confused, or me. The button with the cicular / back symbol does nothing to the Kenwwod Audio, just the MFD.

Can't check now,as the car's in London and I'm in the Midi-Pyrennes in my Discovery. It'll have to wait until the weekend.

The kenwood does not work with the display at all, so you will not get any audio options or control of the headunit from the control stalks. Only the Bolero and Columbus can be controlled this way.

in that case it may be as you suggest, a software thing.

or possibly whoever fited the kenwood got his wires crossed??

but in these days of plug and play connectors it's not very likely.

saying that, when the oe stereo in an old car broke, i changed it for a cd player with the correct connectors fitted. it wouldn't turn off!

turned out to be incorrect wiring of the supplied connectors so they do get it wrong sometimes
