Really happy with the outcome. Maybe get the whole roof done when i can afford it.

Always wanted it done and as the lacquer started to peel i thought now was the best time!

That looks brilliant  By far the best solution for the dreaded spoiler lacquer peel.

Looks good that emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I was tempted to do the same on my last Fabia, but just got it resprayed instead :)

Cheers. Thats what i thought, plus the spoiler is bonded on and didnt want it sprayed while on the car.

Looks good that

Cheers, it worked out well for a quick and easy fix, only £40 fitted by my local vinyl place.

I really like that! Top job.

That looks surprisingly good

Do you know if they removed all of the peeling laquer first, or is it thick enough that it wont show through anyway? It looks spot on either way.

Impressive for the money, I must say

As you said.....cant go wrong for 40 notes !!!

Mine has started to peel as well, I think I'll have this new fangled Vinyl Wrap done to my spoiler. By far the best body mod I've seen on this forum. Don't think I'll get it done for £40 though being down Sarf.

I quite like that :)

I removed the peeling lacquer with some 1200 wet and dry, and took the edge off where it had gone to. The vinyl is pretty thick so it can't be seen, plus its patterned not totally smooth so it would be very hard to see where it was.

Looks real good that. Tempted to get it fitted to my car now! Dangerous seeing what everyone else does to their Fab's cos i keeps giving me ideas. The wife aint best pleased!! hahahaha

Carbon fibre vynol covers everything

Really thick

Nice job. My spoiler,s lacquer has done the same so im tempted to do the same as you

I'd really like to see how this looks on a black car as my laquer is peeling very badly

That looks pretty good, great price too.

Wonder if it would look good on a silver car.

Would look good on a silver car, sort of matches the the other black parts.

Nicely done!

Most of my lacquer has now departed, could it be wrapped in a clear glossy vinyl to replicate the lacquer do you know???

If its all gone id just re laquer it. Think it will be hard to find an exact colour match in vinyl so would be better to go for a different colour

No, I don't mean silver vinyl, just clear vinyl over the original flat silver paintwork that's left after the lacquer has gone! Thought it might be a bit more resilient to the sunlight! :smirk:

You could prep it and re-lacquer I suppose. Don't think a clear vinyl would work that well personally.

was it covered in situ?

Yeah it was done on the car in a dust free sealed workshop.
