18000 Miles, 1 year, 1st Service

Featured Replies

So my 12 month old SM is now pestering me for its first service.

Over the last year, I've mostly covered motorway mileage in the UK and France and probably averaged 40mpg over this time (yes I've got a heavy right foot)

The only return to the garage was after I took the poor thing a little too far off road and crushed the under body panels when I beached her on a 4x4 course. But she did realy well and showed up a lot of bigger 4x4's by going round the course at the press of the "button".

No other faults (except the white worm on the rear badge) have cropped up.

I've now counted 4 other yeti's in my home town, so the words slowly getting out and most of us wave at each other when we pass on the roads.

Heres to another 12 months of very happy motoring :-)

Are you still on the original tyres or have you changed them? If you have what did you replace them with and what was your milage? thanks in advance....:)

still on the original rubber - with maybe another 4ish mm of wear all round.

RogN, I've a question for you. I'm assuming you're on variable service intervals and the maxidot is telling you one is soon due. I'm on about 15k miles so far. If I press various buttons and scroll through menus, I can find a place on the maxidot that says service due in something like 3k miles or x hundred days. What I'm wondering is, do you always have to go through the menu and check for yourself how long to the service; or, when the service is getting closer, do you get some kind of pop up reminder automatically in maxidot (like the one that tells you to refuel)?

It will come up automatically on the maxidot when you switch on the ignition.

 Thank you ... that's what I hoped and kind of expected, but nice to have it confirmed.

Theres a section in the maxidot that gives you an approximate service distance (but you can only access it when stationary). Knew it was there, but was quite happy for it to remind me when the time came.

My Yeti's my third Skoda, so from the experiences with my Octavia and Octavia Scout - was expecting the service popup to start appearing at about 16k, so very happy to get a little further up the road before having to take her in on Monday.
