Fabia Vrs With Petrol Engine

Featured Replies

I just read an article that Skoda will bring the Fabia vRS with an petrol engine. There also will be an 3 door modell. De new vRS shout make a fist to Peugeot and Renault with there hot hatches.

Grt. ****

Music to my ears. I'm gonna have to ask the dealer about this when I test drive the 130HP RS Fabia in September...

Whereas I would opt for a big diesel - a 150PD (PD150?) ideally. There really is no accounting for taste, is there!?:)

****: I got that story (which you probably saw on gummen.org) from here in the first place... :D

Dutch:D :D

either engine sounds fun... pd150 or 1.8T the Fabia is still the best car in its class and deserves the best engines...

especially if it sticks it to the french hot hatches:D

Yes indeed! 220 Jabba'd BHP in a Fabia?...just what the doctor ordered!!

I'm considering a px when it comes out now! Just a shame they are not doing it in Cayenne! :(

Have already thought of taking it to Jabba's for thier 350bhp conversion! Now wouldn't that suprise a few people! :D

I was actually told when i bought my Octavia, that the Diesel Fabia vRS would be followed later in the year by a version with the 1.8 Turbo (180Bhp) engine.

Would be a hell of a car :)

... asked my dealer about this yesterday - he hadnt heard anything about a petrol version

Gorners wont taker an order but reckon there is a strong possibility of the car appearing.

darn tempting if they did...or the current thought train, July's idea: Fabia and a good condition RS2 :D

nice idea....

steep running costs...

Greeting from Slovakia logged on in Internet Cafe, Drove the Fabia Vrs last week in CZ its a good drive 3rd gear is great for cornering, although breaks are not as good as octavia RS a bit poor really, enjoyed the drive especially on CZ twisty mountain roads. 6 speed box, never used 5 and 6th for real as they are very high. The one I drove was in yellow and did not do much for me. Overall I think the car is good but is nowhere near as good as the Octavia RS package.

I asked the top guys from Skoda Auto CZ about low power engines in Skoda and why Seat had higher power options = he said it is due to being the Classic brand and If I wanted more power I should buy a Seat or Audi  Thez never mentioned anything about a Petrol Fabia Rs although did mention some changes with the Superb around August not sure what seemed engine - comfort levels but suggested waiting a while if thinking of buying = dont know if the changes are for UK models either.

Drove a few superbs also the 2.8 V6 is a great drive as good as the Octavia RS IMHO engine sounds great.

Back to the Tatra Pivo ......

nastra dano for now

Hmm - 180HP Fabia - insurance group? 14 to 16? Fat chance I'd get cover at my age!

PS: What group is the vRS octy at the moment, out of curiousity?

16 i think..never asked?

not sure whar diff group actually makes to the premium...

had group 19 cars cost less than group 17 in the past...

I guess it depends on age and value too, eh?

Wonder how much a 180HP vRS Fabia would be to buy?

The groups don't mean a whole lot more, they work off much more complex algorithms than that.

Which is how they can calculate how to charge me a 'kin fortune for a group 8...

Rob.

Dunno what group I am actually. I think it was 8 too? maybe even 6 or 7? I know it was a lot lower than the 1.4 16V, which surprised me. Perhaps insurers see oil-burners as a lower risk to thievery?

and the fact that diesels tend to cover more miles between shunts..

they have so many diff matrix calculations its unreal.

getting married and insuring the car for you+spouse only is the cheapest....
