Hi,

The dash lights dimming and the headlights flickering between bright and dim whilst driving is going to be a intermitten short in the PAS angle sensor. I had exactly the same issuie it got worse then the PAS warning light came on and the PAS then failed. I had a new angle sensor fitted £200.00 and now no more problems, the lights will dim slightly if the electric PAS pump is under load ie turning the wheel stationary or at very low speed in a car park this is normal. However whilst driving in a straight line then its going to be your angle sensor, the original ones were made of plastic and crack with age and let water in causing the short the replacement one is made of metal and stops this problem. Hope that helps sorry to give you bad news

Could also be tired battery, alternator sense wire corroded, Aux drive belt, alternator clutch, corroded or cracked large blade fuse links on top of the battery (look for hairline cracks.)
