Serious Problem with Passenger door

Featured Replies

It won't open. Brought it into my local Skoda dealership (who had previously get the 5051 at it) to sort out the problem.

What happens? They cannot open the door. They destroyed the door panel (the inside bit) in the process.

Any one know where the deadlock is so I can have a go at unlocking it (before they get out the angle-grinder and saw off the door!)

btw, most of the locking mechanism is in the footwell - taken out from the attempt. (Photos may come...)

Help!

Oh dear, they aint easy to get apart when the deadlock get stuck on.

Has it had any bodywork done on that door do you know?

Do they reakon its the door lock thats knackered or is there a control board that maybe isn't operating the lock ?

Nope, no bodywork done on it at all. But now there'll be a new inside panel needed.

They said that they won't know until they can get the door opened.

 I assume they'll be providing a new door panel

I don't envy you :o

Doesn't sound good have you tried calling Skoda to find out if cutting the door off is the only option. sounds drastic??? not that i know anything about doors

It was in with Skoda today, and it was considered as a last resort. The mechanics managed to get the door open after in total about 10 hours of trying - and we wonder why thiefs rob the car keys?

Any way, it looks as if the door lock, the control unit and the wiring have to be replaced as well as the interior door panel.

I've got a replacement 1.4 Octy to play with tonight...I put my foot down and waited.. Came back after having a cup of tea and found t moved 5 feet... :D

If all goes well, I should have my baby back tomorrow.
