Petrol Blue Metallic

Featured Replies

Hi

Has anyone seen/got links to pictures of the Superb in Petrol Blue Metallic??

Interested in your thoughts, currently have an estate on order in Amethyst, dealer tells me that the cutoff point for making changes is end of next week.

The only doubt I have regarding options is the colour!!

I was exactly like you. I had ordered the Amethyst Purple and at the final hurdle swapped out to the Storm Blue. Was it a good move? ABSOLUTELY. The best if the decisions I have made in relation to the car. If the colour is anything similar to the colour being deleted, grab it!!

However if it looks like the roomster and a sky blue then stick with your first choice. Of course this is only my subjective view. :)

I just ordered my Superb Estate Elegance two weeks ago and wanted Storm Blue but was told it was discontinued to be replaced with Petrol Blue but the dealer had not received the new sample swatches (also no longer available were the Luna wheels I wanted). I've looked at the configurator and it now shows the Petrol Blue (also known elsewhere as Lava Blue). It's a darker/deeper blue than Storm, and not entirely to my liking so I've switched to Amethyst. If nothing else, it's the only colour not available on any other model than the Superb.

My car won't be built 'till August, so I guess I've got time to change my mind.

BTW I think you'll find the Roomster shown here is Miami Blue, not Petrol Blue.

And as an aside, who at SUK decided we didn't need the MY12 ventilated front seats as a UK spec/option?

Storm Blue is a lovely colour, especially on Octy's or Superbs. A colleague has a Octy hatch in this colour which looks great.

Petrol Blue looks similiar to the current VW Golfs' Georgia Blue Metallic, which looks quite classy in the metal.

If would be helpful if Skoda woke up to their competitors and completely revamped their very basic configurator, which, for the most part,is non-operational due to maintenance issues! Just look at the configurators offered by the likes of VW, Audi and BMW to see what a difference a quality configurator can make to the buying experience.

According to What Car today Blue is the new White according to VW group- despite black being the most ordered colour last year.

However if the Roomster shown is petrol blue then dont think it suits the Superb. There is a Roomster that colour running about locally and it looks good, Superb is too big and "grown up"for it IMHO

On the Yeti forum someone from Sweden posted this picture in this thread of the new colours:

Skoda_Colors_Small.jpg

And his words: "The top right plate is Platin Gray. The second plate at the second row is Bronze. The second plate in the third row is Petrol Blue. The plate at the bottom right is Regency Green."

As you can see the Petrol Blue on that looks NOTHING like the blue of that Roomster! I had a Roomster just like that as a courtesy car and could not give it back soon enough! I felt like I was driving in a high viz jacket so bright the darn thing was!!! :giggle:

The Petrol Blue on the sample board looks very smart indeed and more like what I would expect Petrol Blue to look like than the rather bright hue on the Roomster.

+1

There is a colour sample in the MY12 brochure IMO the Petrol Blue is a nice colour

And a Roomster in Petrol Blue:

That Roomster is Miami Blue.

Has anyone got a photo of Petrol Blue on a Superb Estate yet?

Cheers, edited my post above.

What is the world coming to when you can't trust google? :giggle:

The trouble with most cars these days is that you can have Red, White or Dull.

Yes, the colour options are too dull. I'd be quite keen on the flat 'steel grey' offered in the Octavia range, but its a love/hate colour for most people.

When it comes to the Superb 2, it seems to be mostly black or silver for the paint colour, which is a pity when there are nice alternatives available. Rosso Brunello looks amazing with ivory leather but it's as rare as hens' teeth.

The classiest colour combo offered in a Skoda IMO!  I still miss my 2011 Superb with those colours.  Disgusted they dropped it in the new model but like most fleet-orientated models nowadays its the same old predictable colours offered.
