Should you be advertising that you were doing over 100mph on the motorway on here.... do you want to kill yourself and somebody else???

Why did you put a 4 inch backbox on the Felicia?

By "M1" I assume you mean your own private test track? :p

Why did you put a 4 inch backbox on the Felicia?

Because the 5" one was out of stock?

mine will bounce off the rev limiter at about 125mph  no it's not a private test track, yes it was a public road, no i don't care

We need a Facbook "like" button! ;-)

there used to be a like button.. or maybe it was a thanks button... but it got abused by all the usual suspects

Anyone trying any high speed stunts round here better watch out. Suffolk plod are in Octy vRS's and Audi A6's now..UNMARKED! The Audi is devoid of the hundreds of aerials normally shoved on unmarked plod & has a flip up LED sign on the back shelf...

Once, a few years ago now, I needed to test my 4.2 A8 I had at the time having overhauled all the suspension links, took it up to 155mph on the M180  It was 2am on a summers evening and utterly devoid of all traffic I'd add! It's not speed itself, but the inappropriate use of speed thats the danger..

I think its the stopping very very quickly thats the danger!

"no i don't care"??? Just make sure you only kill yourself then!!

:giggle:

Seriously though there's a time and a place. Plenty of people have done high speed runs, I know I have but it's always be relatively safe. I'd have thought anything more than a ton out of a Felly would be impressive*

*2.8VR6 not included

Not entirely sure that's a problem with Tom's pickup. I beleive the word used was "savage" when he last describe the uprated brakes on it.

From a vRS owner that always sticks to the limit(?) :|

are you using the diesel gear box tom? mine bounces of the revs at 120MPH

mine did 142 on the satnav but did have a 2.0 16v vauxhall motor and box in it, the areodynamics get a bit dodgy after 130 tho and I wouldn't want to go that speed for long.

Oh and my octy vrs will pull about another 10mph over that if you give it space..

all in good conditions and no chance of getting caught up in traffic

as an aside the Vrs is not a good choice of getaway car as it would empty a full tank of fuel inside 70 miles (if you didn't crash first lol).

Plenty of people have done high speed runs, I know I have but it's always be relatively safe.

But not many have been dumb enough to come on a public forum and brag about it :dull:

this is fun..... none of us would fit into a working society if our actions didn't have impacts on other people... be they responsible or irresponsible... HAving the choice to speed on a busy motorway at 120mph and endanger other lives is what makes us human!

we always have a choice despite people such as DionJ trying to take it away from us

Enjoy being human

In regards to the original statement though

105mph if it's verified with sat nav or other instruments other than dashboard speedo is very impressive

I only managed 98mpj out of my modified 1.6ltr Felly

tbh Felly's are far from Aerodynamic and with stock suspension and braking system i wouldn't consider them the safest vehicle's at 100+mph IMO

Right. Two things this thread obviously needs:

soapbox.jpg

There is a big difference between what people say on a forum and the police being able to prove it!

Also, I'm sure the member used his speed in a responsible way. You can't just automatically jump to the conclusion that he did it in an unsafe way.

Now that's sorted. Back on topic.

That sound about right. I've had 107 mph out my old felly 1.3 SPi. And before anyone starts... It was on an un-restricted section of the Autobahn and cars were still passing me!

Edit: I'm thinking of the Pug here. The felly managed 99mph (gps)

99mph according to gps is pretty good! nice work Phil

It was a slight down hill with a fair bit of weight in the car! Slight head wind though too!

I was impressed anyway!

'I only managed 98mpj out of my modified 1.6ltr Felly'

:S

I managed 107mph on sat nav (108mph on speedo) at exactly 5k revs so couild have gone faster but the road started to incline :/ and the car was 3 up with a boot full.

this is the story of my life... everyone always claims to reach much higher top speeds in there cars than i do in mine... i would claim that i am simply more honest than most people however that would be accusing everyone else of lying....

My Fabia 1.4 8V 68bhp managed 121mph according to the speedo on a downhill... satnav said 107mph and on a flat it won't hit 100mph

same as my Felly which just won't hit 100mph on a flat despite having 75bhp and a fair bit of engine work

My MR2 which should do 129mph according to brochure only does 120mph on a flat

My Porsche is slightly different it's meant to do 147mph but i've seen 161mph on it but how accurate is a speedo on a 20yr old car plus it's modified with about an extra 30bhp

i even borrow friends cars and there like 'it does 120mph on the motorway'(1.3 86bhp corolla), i return it a day later saying 'well i could only coax 102mph out of it) i suggested she is perhaps dyslexic! lol
