MK1 VRS Estate

Featured Replies

Picking up a MK1 VRS estate next week for the MRS, I understand the estate came with 16's, was there any reason for this?

Can 17ins spiders be fitted??

Cheers J.

Perhaps the average new estate buyer doesn't particularly like to have their bones shaken out from within their frames.

Or it could be that the 17"'s were actually upgrades? :S

There should be no problems whatsoever with fitting 17" spiders. You'll find people with a lot bigger rims on estates with no fitting issues.

Not sure why they fitted 16s to the estate, but I have 17" spiders on mine with no problems and I know there are people on here with bigger than 17s fitted to estates

from a cost and handling point of view i'd keep the 16" wheels if I were you - £70 per tyre instead of £100

I have 18s on mine :)

Any excuse to share pics:

Cheers All,

So I will see how the ride is on the 16's but would like to go for 17's possibly when tires are needed then.

First off will be to de chrome the grill and have the windows tinted.

skodas excuse is that 17's made the estate ' unstable ' ... what a load of bull lol .... like rob i run 18's
