cd magazine jammed

Featured Replies

hi guys

i have done a search on here but to no avail.

ive had no problems with my 6cd changer in my vrs until i took it out to change my cds around.

when i put the magazine back in with the new cds, it wouldnt play them. i then tried to remove the magazine but it is now jammed and wont come out at all. when i press the eject button there is no sound or indication at all thats its going to come out.

anyone any ideas on how to get the magazine out of the unit?

thanks in advance

The changer needs to be removed and stripped down I'm afraid. A CD will be jammed in the feed rollers, and needs to be removed to get the mag out.

It involves seat removal, then the CD changer. When you open up the changer it's like Swiss clockwork inside, and needs a delicate touch, so the usual hammer is pretty much a no go. :D

Took mine out & left the Bugger out.

Nothing but trouble with it. Weighed a fair bit to. Lol.

I used to repair CD auto changers day in and day out, got really good at getting them in a bin from 20 feet away.

These can be carefully removed and stripped....they usually fail because of a build-up of "fluff" in the rollers, mechs, etc which needs to be cleaned out! There might be a manual eject like on a PC CD or DVD drive (insert straightened paperclip into the small hole and press) or remove the cd wiring plug from the back of the head unit, count to 30 then refit and turn it back on an see if it does a reset type of thing!?
