I have a creaking noise coming from the rear of my fabia. it happens when i get in (I'm only 15 stone)and also when i go over a bump it sounds like the springs. any ideas would be appreciated.

Same here but only notice when I get out of the car and I'm 11 stones

Most likely damper bump stops or brake pads. Eliminate the last one by trying it with the handbrake off.

Handbrake will make the noise as the axle is a fixed beam so with loading the wheel tries to turn, if the handbrake is on it will try to stop it and makes a noise

come to think of it. it started after i had new discs and pads 2 weeks ago. i shall try getting in without the handbrake on.

Did you find the cause to this problem? I've got the same issue.....
