This unit is intended for a polo or bora but with a little fiddling I fitted it to my Fabia VRS, voila :

You can change the button led color from red to green :). The sat nav is great as is the picture and sound. Here is the link to the shop I ordered it from.

They have excellent comms and customer service from my experience. Be prepared to wait up to a month for your item though as these are shipped to order. I am very happy with the unit. It has OE connectors so was easy to install. My car is silver so it matches nicely. Will post some more snaps at night with it illuminated. Comments appreciated.

Thanks mate, they do a identical black facia one to!. I paid £250 for it. Had to hacksaw out a bit of plastic at the back of the cage, but after that came out it clicked in factory style no problem. I made the little blank above it out of a golf cup holder blank lol. There are no rattles either in fact the dash seems quieter :).

Nice!! Looks good.

Perhaps if you colour match the surrounding bits silver may look even better!!

Very nice. Just one observation, the silver sticks out and screams in pikey speak. "Smash a window and steal me."

I would go for the black option for security reasons if nothing else.

What are the menus and buttons like to operate?

Any chance of some vids navigating through the unit?

I love a bargain, but one thing I hate about cheap Chinese electronics are the cheap feel to switches, especially when they have no damping and are a really harsh click.

Granted the buttons feel a little harsh to click but then again its touch screen is great so you dont need to use them and it comes with a remote. I will see what i can do about a demo vid :). When you see the whole car the silver really goes but yes it does stand out a wee bit :S.

You don't have to show, there is a general car park, where mine will be :giggle:

So what's involved in fitting these units? Do you need a GPS aerial?

The GPS aerial is included, it screws in the back and I used some sticky pads to secure it behind the unit in the dash. I get max signal strength. They supply the gps sofware ;) . Also supplied is a aerial booster adapter. The other connectors just plug and play. B)

Does it have an input for a mic for the bluetooth as well, or will it only use the mic built into the front of the unit?

The manual says you can plug in an external mic, rear parking cam, external amp, usb and ipod!. Comes with can bus adapter as well for if you have steering wheel controls. My favorite feature is the duel function of the gps you can have running whilst you listen to music or watch films ect and it has dynamic volume adjusting.

Nice bit a kit that, 1st cheapo (if ya can call it cheapo) unit I've seen that does a good job of looking oem!

Does it display caller ID on the screen when a call comes in?

What's the viewing angle of the LCD like?

Taa

Rob.

looks good. How would you rate sound and display quality?

Thanks for your replies :). The screen quality is great, dvd's look awesome and I can't fault the touchscreen. It is a bit reflective in the daytime though being a touchscreen but the veiwng angle is very good, you can see it clearly in driving position. As for the caller ID i don't know as i don't use the unit with my phone but I reckon it would. Also IGO8 with some skins installed unlocks bluetooth in the gps so all sorts of options are open :). Sound quailty of this box is fantastic and louder than the old oem symphony 4x60w as opposed to 4x40w.

Have you tried the TV tuner or does it require more parts

It did not come with a TV aerial, and as they are cutting of the waves next year is not really worth it for analog TV. In the future I will get a digital DVB-T tuner plumbed into it.

sorry for all the questions but do you have to pay for the GPS software and do you get free updates to it once road maps are updated

No problem, they sent me a personal link to download different sat nav software. Not sure about updates but they are easy to obtain ;). I have switched back to IGO Primo (IG09) 1.2 with the TTS voices. I love it the GPS audio now pronouces road names in the directions, you also get junction view which is kinda cool. I recommend this software, works great on my box.
