What's wrong/missing here?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just did a search, didn't seem to turn up anything.

My rear wiper has never had a nozzle/jet since I owned her.

Purchased a rear wiper jet off skodaparts.com which I thought would be the end of my problem.

It seems the Brass/gold coloured bit of metal is stopping the jet from going in properly. Is this supposed to be there? Cant seem to remove it easily?

Any help would be really appreciated! :D

Thanks in advance

Are you on about the black flap/cap that covers the pivot point?

The brass part is the pipe which actually carries the water from the plastic pipe inside the boot trim, through the hatchback and then out. So yes, it's supposed to be there. It's also supposed to be round though, yours looks a bit mashed up in that pic, maybe it's been damaged to the point you can't get the jet in anymore.

No, I have one of those (removed for the purpose of the photo.

I'm on about the Brass/gold bit that's in the centre of the wiper arm nut thingy. Is it suppose to be there? It seems to be restricting the washer jet from sitting where its suppose to properly?

Thanks for the reply Gavin.

It does look a bit mashed up, to the point where it doesn't actually allow the jet to be seated properly.

Do you reckon getting something (drill bit)to try and re-open it up a bit would work?

Where's the plastic jet that goes into the brass thread??

Where's the plastic jet that goes into the brass thread??

In my wallet at the moment as it doesn't fit! as the brass bit is too small for it!

Lol. Shall I post a pic of mine for you to compare??

Thanks for offering. Ended up using a big hammer to 'gently' ease it into place, seems to work ok at the moment!

Just realised that I can't get mine out unless I undone the nut. So Obviously loosing the nut would release the jet.

I bet if you took nut off, the jet would go in with ease!!

We ended up taking the nut off (Rusted on solid! :@)but all it releases is the wiper arm. I think it would be a case of taking off the trim inside to actually get to the internals!

Anyway, popped a bit of grease on the spindle so the nut and wiper arm wont seize on again!

There's a repair kit available!

Coincidently we repaired the washer on my Uncles Allroad yesterday (Same wiper motor) the kit cost £32!

You mean this one as shown in this thread.

Huzzah! My rear wiper jet no longer rotates with the arm

It looks like it comes with a nozzle too. :D
