ok thanks il have a look later.

As the one you've bought has pre-drilled holes for fitment, just drill into the standard plastic footrest at the appropriate places.

You can also glue them in place with a decent adhesive, but it depends on the fitment of this one. Have seen Octy2 rests glued in place. As long as the adhesive is strong enough, it won't go anywhere.

Sorry to revive this thread but i have just bought one of these and will be fitting it after Christmas. Has anyone else fitted one and how easy is it to get the current plastic footrest out without snapping anything??

I might consider going the adhesive route as it seems easier and that's always good. :D

Take the footrest out, one nut at the top and do it that way. Its a bit dark by the pedals to see what you are doing, unless you have footwell lights.

Sounds so easy. Lets see how difficult i can make it!!! :D

Might do this when i've got the front seat out to give me more room.

As said above just drill through the predrilled holes into the plastic mount.

The plastic mount pops out to make it easier.

It's simple to get the footrest out - after all I managed it! Much easier than getting the pedal covers back on, after foolishly taking them off to clean them!

i can vouch on the pedal covers lol the dead pedal removal is so easy though, prob a guide on here somewhere

I did a group buy on these a long while back.

You need a 10mm socket on a long bar to make things easy.

The nut is PLASTIC so don't over tighten it it will shear or break.

The foot rest hooks in place at the bottom, after nut is out lift the

footrest to remove it. The supplied nuts bolts and washers are a bit

cack imo. I used some that I found in the my tool room, ideally you should

use a shorter fixing on the bottom hole, I angle grindered a lump off of

one of mine to stop it fouling the hook fixing at the base.

If you're not very handy with a drill then tape the plate to the footrest

first to hold it still before drilling.

I put some coloured inlays behind mine to pimp it further.

The only thing putting me off buying one is mud getting stuck in it from my shoes :/

Cheers for the replies everyone. :)

You get in your car with muddy shoes?!

You get in your car with muddy shoes?!

Yes, a car is to be used ;)

If it gets muddy then I can clean it, however cleaning mud from the holes in the footrest might be a PITA.

Yeah my car is used, every day for work. I always managed to wipe the mud off my shoes though before getting in. Far easier than having to give the carpet a deep clean I should imagine.

Wish i had time to clean my shoes everytime i got in the car to avoid it getting dirty :(

Insted i just hoover the car mats that collect mud and dirty effortlessly.

Bad times, luckily, I cant remember the last time I had to wipe my feet (by that I mean shuffle them along the floor for a second, not too time consuming). I must be one of the few lucky people that doesn't have to walk a muddy field each day to their car.

It isnt the carpets that bother me so much, its the plastic bits, beside the pedals, door sills etc.... That once mud/dirt is on them they take a while to clean off.

Damp microfibre cloth makes cleaning the mud effortless.

As for muddy shoes I often work in the stone business, so stone dust an water is a messy combo hence the muddy shoes.

I fitted one of these and just used double sided tape (same stuff what holds number plates on) and cut it so that it went inbetween the gaps, pushed on and has never shifted. I mean after all you rest your foot on it therefore pressing it on not pulling it off :)
