Was just about to order a RARB...

24mm adjustable from Whiteline...

£170 seemed reasonable to me. Until it came to checkout time.

£90 delivery? You've gotta be kidding me?

Any cheaper alternatives out there?

Edited by demonufo

Would that not be due to the fact Whiteline are Australian, and therefore you're paying international shipping on top of the retail price? Why not buy from DPM or similar, I know they used to stock them.

AHA. DPM. £9.95. That's a bit more like it. (actually that's cheaper than I expected)

Anything else I need to fit it? Or are these kits complete?

Edited by demonufo

Are they easy to fit and do you require any special tools? Is the handling much different ?

I never got around to it on mine, but I was told it's one of the best handling mods you can do on a Leon (same chassis as the Octy I)

Oh, and pretty easy to fit. Jack the rear end up, the two droplinks attach to the bottom shock absorber bolts, then lift the bar up to the main rear beam and attach it to there. Job done.

try living in the western isles of scotland my wife ordered horse stuff off the internet to the total of £44 then was quoted £87 to deliver, phoned them up and they stood by the quote saying it was because of the postcode !!!!!

Yup its the best handling mod you can do, Ive taken my RARB off as I have swapped my rear beam back from the polly bushed one off the 51 plate car and put new Fabia bushes in my original one.

I didnt have time to put the Neuspeed one back on as it takes longer than the whiteline. How the hell anyone can drive the octavia without a RARB is beyond me,the role is horrible and even taking a roundabout at normal speed is bad. not the initial turn as that seems to grip "ok" but the direction changes when on the roundabout then exiting make the rear feel to me like they dont belong, will be worse for thoes without coilovers?

Get it on soon as it arrives mate and youll never look back.

Billy

Is it feasible to remove the poly bushes from that beam and sell them? Or are they a "one fit only" type deal?

First dibs if you are selling them!

You're not kidding. The roll is quite offensive, and the understeer when pushing it is downright dangerous. Far too much engine for the car IMO, but nothing I can't sort out.

Just upgraded mine from the Whiteline to a Neuspeed 28mm RARB. And boy that bar is stiffer. I would not recomend it unless you have changed the FARB and sorted suspension and bushes out like i have.

The handling is much better now and soo much tighter.

The RARB is the best £ for £ handling mod on these cars. The whiteline is spot on for a more std car with std FARB.
