turbo

Featured Replies

hi ive got a superb 2.0 we have just fitted a turbo having started it up we now have loads and i mean loads of white smoke the guy said its something to do with oil in the exhaust and it has to burn off is this right im just a bit worried thats all thanks

usually the exhaust intercooler and boost pipes are all drained and the left over oil will burn off, if this isnt done it may take some time. if intercooler isnt drained the engine may take a gulp of oil and runaway on you. mention it to whoever done the work and get all the following done

Mine did the same for about a month after i replaced my turbo. the mechanic said that there was a load of oil in the exhaust system. So everytime the exhaust got rather hot loads of white smoke would billow out the back, was rather embarissing :giggle:

Should clear soon enough
