Misssing Bluetooth

Featured Replies

I reported here some while back that the bluetooth facility was missing from my Yeti on delivery - standard on the Elegance model. On first inspection by the dealer he stated that the bluetooth box was under the driver's seat. Last week the full computer data was sent to Skoda and I was told that they had spotted an irregularity in the system / wiring. Unfortunately the exact details were not passed on to me on the phone but today I took it in for the problem to be sorted. On signing the worksheet I spotted a statement that the bluetooth unit was NOT under the drivers seat and they want the car for 2 days. So it looks as if the whole bluetooth setup may have been missed from the vehicle. If so it will be interesting how they can retrofit the whole system. I'll keep you posted as best as I can but I suspect that I will get back a fully working vehicle with minimal detail as to the extent of the problem.

My courtesy vehicle is a Hyundai IX35 CRDI which seems to be a direct competitor of the Yeti. I don't thik I will be out in it much to make any detailed comparison. However it seems to do the job.

Kitten and I looked at the IX35 before settling onto getting the Yeti.

We both thought they were overprices and of poor build quality inside.

We wanted an automatic, but they didn't have an automatic engine variant at the time we were looking.

The salesman was an arrogant **** as well emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Collected Yeti this morning. Turns out it DID have all the bluetooth equipment installed. They checked fuses, prodded and poked and then unplugged the unit under the driver's seat and plugged it back in again. From that point onwards all worked.

I have to confess that I quite liked the Hyundai IX35 CRDI. Only did about 25 miles in it. It seemed more free running than my Yeti (both with similar very low mileages) and would pull away in 6th happily from very low revs. The interior a bit plasticy but I reckon typical oriental. I could get used to it. Once back in my Yeti it felt sturdy and a bit staid. If Yetis did not exist I could see myself with a Hyundai - apparently designed and built in Germany. And for SWMBO a big plus - she could see the clock. She enjoyed driving it as well. I liked the keyless button start.

German?! :wonder: Thought they were built in Slovakia! Nice cars but I also found the interior to be too plasticky and the build quality not as good as the Yeti. Ride quality i didnt think was a patch on the Yeti either. Equipment wise and warranty wise - excellent though. :) Id look more closely at the Kia Sportage over the Hyundai but thats mainly down to the external appearance. :)

Just googled it... "The 2010 Hyundai ix35 will be built at Kia’s ultra modern European manufacturing plant, located in a small city called Zillina (Slovakia). The plant already produces Kia Sportage SUV"

You can set the clock (in maxidot) to display on the Columbus/Bolero unit so that your wife or any other passenger can see it!

You might be able to do it on the Columbus but I don't think you can on the Bolero!

Erm - I set up my phone in about 30 seconds. Can't see anyway of doing anything with clock other than set time. Can you give me a clue please ?? - Bolero unit.

Yes - Me and several others would love to be able to display the time on our Boleros

For some reason 'er indoors has a fetish about seeing the time displayed - despite a plethora of watches.....

Must be a NIGHTMARE to adjust them all when the clocks change emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Manual page 26 - Setup. In TIME, tick display. It then always shows the time in the bottom line of your radio/map/nav display or, if the unit is switched off, the time is displayed centrally in it.

Sorry, but that does NOT apply to the Bolero units.
