so if i get a cheap one there not good to fit also i'm after a pipe for air filter to go down wing stainless one where would i get one at cheers

In my experience yes - mine didn't fit well at all. But my xenons made it harder as they're deeper than standard lights.

There are stainless CAIs on Ebay - but if you get one, fit a better quality filter to it as I've heard the ones that come with them are rubbish :)

cheers i'll have a look about as just got the octavia vrs and just planning on what to do with it front mount intercoolers look great tho

You don't really need a FMIC until after other mods, such as a remap :)

Have a look at my website for some ideas for stuff you can mod :)

yeah i will hve a look its mapped now but want it on a rolling road to see what its putting out

It depends what map you have as Rob has stated the FMIC is only needed for a stage 2 and upwards that is extracting the limit of our turbos boost to help keep charge temps down. There are a number of side mount upgrades also.

here is a pic of my Forge FMIC that was easy to fit also a pic of my ABD CAI which is one of the best quality CAI's you can get.

I do like the look of the front of your car. If I went the FMIC route I think I would also get a

Forge one.

Did you find any noticeable turbo lag?, Ive often wondered about this as the route

from turbo to manifold has been increased in length and volume or is it well within the spool up

response time of the K03.

This is the first turbo car ive owned so it has been a learning curve for me.

When first I got it I did try and feel the dreaded "lag" but it seemed pretty instant on pick up.

I can't say i notice any lag to be honest. Although I got the REVO stage 2 mapped with the Forge unit fitted so the map was custom set for my mods.

I know the forge costs a lot (i had great discount) but it is a tried and tested unit, great quality and was a breeze to fit. I will post the RR Map i had as the boost curve was spot on and JKM have stated one on the best 1.8T's power curve.

That should be interesting to see, look forward to it.

I have looked at all the main players Jabber , Revo , Shark etc for when I do get the car remapped and did decide on Revo.

No real technical reason, I think the main players are all pretty skilled at what they do.
