Xenons or Esp

Featured Replies

Octy RS is not top of the range, it's an ambiente with part leather \ part pvc.... guess Fab RS is positioned in middle spec wise in the same way?

You may be right about the Octavia BUT the Fabia vRS IS top spec.

As regard ESP, IMO unless youre going to thrash it along country lanes all day, then dont bother. The Xenons are fantastic and worth every penny !!

Why dont you order both and save the other

I had ESP as standard on my smart. When activated a light appeared on the dash.

The light came on a lot, I think I would have become a hedge-seeking missile without it.

Xenon's just allow you to see clearly the solid object you are about to clobber, with ESP you at least have a slim chance of avoiding it.

Well, I have xenons and agree they are worth every penny. The confidence they give you at night or rain or fog is incredible. That alone is worth the cost, and as a bonus they look good and you get washers thrown in!

If I could had realised what a hooligan the Fabia vRS could be, I'd have probably ticked the ESP option (and probably side air bags too come to think of it). If you drive sensibly then I can't imagine ESP ever being used, unless you happen to have an unfortunate incident where someone else tries to kill you (and in over 3 years of driving, sometimes like a muppet, I cannot remember any occasion where ESP woud have helped) However, the most important safety feature is ABS - allowing you to steer and brake at the same time - and thats standard!

The Fabia doesn't have these options as standard to keep the price really low to appeal to those who simply wouldn't be able to afford one otherwise.

I added xenons, heated seats and cruise control, which for me just make it a plusher car, and well worth the

I've got both - if adjusted properly the Xenons are excellent. If not, they suck. If too high they blind others, if too low you cannot see a darn thing.

ESP has definitely saved my bacon once, and it's vastly better than ASR as it doesn't appear to cut the engine power as aggressively.

It is an expensive option though, and it means more can go wrong as more sensors etc involved - I'm happy with it :)
