Hi,as anyone used "diesel-performance.co.uk" ?.....I have swapped my mk1 vrs fabia for a Fabia 2 Monte Carlo 105Tdi.I thought I could get used to the power drop but after 1500 miles I`m not so sure.Diesel-performance do a modest self fit tuning system which will up the power more or less to where the Vrs was at.(its only another 25bhp but would be enough). Its listed under the Skoda section under Fabia 2 1.6Tdi 105 ps cr.Anyone used them or any thoughts?

sounds a bit kak to meemoticon-0112-wondering.gif

Just get a decent diesel remap and you'll be pushing almost 140bhp with it. Job done.

I'm not sure if anyone can map the 1.6 TDI yet due to the new ECU type.

Last time I spoke to Ben @ Shark, they can read and write to it, but couldn't get the ECU to accept the new flash because of the checksum calculations.

I'm pretty certain that it won't be long now though, as that was a few weeks ago, and we all know how fast tech changes :D

can you feel a big difference in power , what th power like in the monte , i orderd mine without test drive

revo remap not listed for the 16 tdi yet

Power is good, but the way it delivers it is different from the old PD engines. The PD's gave you a big kick as they came on boost, which can make them feel faster than they are since their power then tails off. The CR engines don't have as big a kick, but hold their power longer and are much smoother.

but wouldn`t a re-map be visible to Skoda dealer (have never done this sort of thing before)I was looking at self-fit tuning box so I could remove it before going for servicing etc...

Sorry to say it mate the cr needs to have the ecu cracked open and the remap installed through 'backdoor' skoda / VAG have introduced a firewall type system in the ecu now which means ben has to basically plug in somewhere else. Not the end of the world but no chance of an STD unit aviliable :(

I've read good reviews of these digi boxes... 130bhp for you, and you can remove for trips to the dealer..

Would be interested to hear your experience with one of these if you get one.

DTUK specialised in the Vauxhall market for a while turning the Astra 1.9 Cdti 150 bhp into a 200 bhp monster i should know my Brother had one his actually rolling roaded at 207bhp. Even on a wee run he gave TYpe R's beat down had some owners even asking if it was a boxed up astra (tuning box Fitted).

Im thinking about purchasing but cant decide between them and TMC has anyone fitted a TMC to they're 105BHP TDi yet?

I had a MK1 VRS as well and ordered the Monte CR when I had only test driven the 105Tsi. Personally I love the engine, it's got great grunt when you need it and it is more than adequate for me. It's true the 1.9 lump had more of a whack, the new one is so much more refined as a whole package that it feels better to me.

The CR engine has a more refined linear power delivery to the PD engine thats fitted to the MK1 vRS. Your CR engined Fabia may not feel as fast because the delivery is progressive, not a lot can be done about that.

You also have a DPF which the vRS did not have, and a poor tuning box or remap can kill the DPF very quickly. Choose your tuning box carefully or it can work out expensive in the future.
