bolero radio - no update for my vehicle :-(

Featured Replies

I called Skoda today to see if I was due a bolero update, to help speed up my sdcard reading speed. They said no new updates are due for my bolero. Anyone know for sure if this is true, if so my options aren't great. My garage also checked 6 months ago during my last service.

Try a different dealer, as I know several people have had Bolero firmware updated.

From memory, posted elsewhere on Briskoda:

Ask the dealer for the bolero firmware upgrade that fixes the speaker balance issues.

This also improves SD card indexing.

They may be reluctant to do it as it takes 40+ mins.

Shame we cant burn a binary file off internet onto CD and upgrade ourselves ?

40 minutes for a firmware upgrade?

Bloody nora.

Does it make it sound any better?

I doubt it ! :@

The Bolero & speakers in my vehicle make for one of the worst new/oem sounding systems I've had in any car.

I'm sorry to hear your having issues. I have been having media error messages quite frequently on my 16GB Class 10 SD Card. This has been immediately fixed by transfering my 6-7GB of music to my 8GB Class 4 card. No issues any more & no real load issues, all seems quick in my opinion.

Had my Bolero updated a few weeks ago by Gav at Progress Skoda in Northampton.

The software/firmware is not where most techs would look for it on there computer systems.

Gav dug deep however and found itemoticon-0100-smile.gif

Tel No 01604 795444

Did take about 5 mins to set up and then 40 mins to run

Improved the speed of reading the SD card considerably

I complained of a few issues with my bolero so they did an update on it a couple of months ago. It's sped up the sd card massively. Unfortunately it's still playing up & computer says no, so they won't replace it!

I had the update done last Jan, made huge differance to SD card times.

I thought they were brilliant! Though I am young and haven't had many cars to compare it to. I do know that it is better than my friends Bose A3.

I AM NOT AN OLD FART ! :D

Although my hearing may be a bit under par due to loud bangs and gas turbines.

Didn't go as I hoped :-( There was no update available today.

The dealer said they have an update to their system due next week, they are not sure if it is to do with the sd card or not.

What do you reckon, go back in a week? or try another dealer?

(There are loads of conflicting rumours, some claim they get updates, skoda says no, dealer says no. You would like to think you could ask Skoda and they know for sure?! )

It would be really useful to know whether those who've obtained an update are able to say what version of firmware they've been updated to. Then all the rest of have to try and do is see what we have at present. Anybody any ideas on how we might find this out?

if ur sd card is slow, try another dealer!
