Adjuster cups on coilovers

Featured Replies

Been running the weitec setup for a few months now and thinking I want some extra lows, iv got to work on the car tomorrow anyway and thought while I'm at it should I just unscrew the cups, and match the front?? Really in 2 minds as I would love the extra lows but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Sorry to all the long standing brisky members who hate thus style of post it's one of the only 'childish' ones I plan to post.

I've just raised my coilovers from effectively where you want to adjust yours too. A much better ride where it is now, a more sensible drop and more comfortable. I won't be going that low again.

Get them out!! Sadly the backs just don't go low enough on the cups :(

I wouldn't bother, it's a car to be driven not to be worrying about bottoming out over the slightest bump in the road. Mine was fairly low and I've raised it up now and the ride is so much better, and it's a lot more pleasurable to drive. However, I do agree that they look sweet when lowered to the floor. Wouldn't lowering it more cause problems if you carry passengers in the back?

No cups in mine and carrying 4 people was no issue. The front is the bit to watch (sump etc)

I don't really carry passengers in the back it tends to be me n my gf, will see what the weather is doing as may only have enough dry weather to do the service

i would definitly remove them, i cant believe that the backs dont go that low, iv got the cups out on the back (green and black part) and all the way down on the front, i love it being that low and have no bottoming out problems at all

definitly worth it

Ah no I'm talking leave the main cup in and only take the adjuster cup out as don't want loose springs

Not worth what?

You've seen the bridge jumping photos, I have no cups in and I've jumped the car tons of times with no problems... The springs never come out even after tons of track days, violent/aggressive driving, air-born, being jacked up, etc...

EDIT: Both adjuster and cup have been removed on mine.

As above, i`v never had any issues with "loose springs" my mate doesnt either after various jacking, being on ramps etc

Cups out on mine, the shocks are shorter then standard so the spring wont fall out :)

No problems with mine either !

Get them out !!!
