Basically I want both new coilovers and a LSD but can only justify one right now as they're both around the £1,100 mark fitted.

My current coilovers are Weitec GT's but they're very boaty and pretty much ruin the car in my opinion. They don't handle very well at all and after going out in Chris' vRS today you can definitely see the difference in higher-end coilovers.

However, the LSD in Chris' car also made me incredibly jealous. It gripped and pulled you around corners really well. I'd also love one of these...

I can't make my mind up on what to get first though... So I'll leave it up to you!

If your coilovers are that bad then i`d go for KW`s. I know the feeling about chris` car, its amazing the difference it makes, he pull`s car lengths on me out of corners. Him & Ali have been trying to persuade me to slip a diff in mine while the greabox is being fixed  Struggling to justify the money at the moment tho :'(

TBH, to get the full out of the diff, you`d need decent suspension setup I think.

Matt

I'd go for the LSD, at least then you will be able to get the most of the power on track days

diff

LSD all the way!

Both, you NEED a diff and the coilovers are knackered

I'd get the LSD first as it will make the world of difference and make the coilovers much much better, might not be the coilovers causing the problem to begin with?

oil filled dampers are over-rated tbh

How is a LSD going to fix his coilovers?!

If the coilovers are knackered I'd replace them first then get a LSD later on.

I went for LSD, but it really depends how long it will take you to make up some money for the coils, if is going to be 1/2 month than go for it

Where does it say it's going to 'fix' his coilovers?! It's going to improve things

He infers that there's no point being able to fire yourself harder down the road if you don't know that your car is capable of staying on it. :)

IMO the suspension really has to be fixed first. Then plan for the LSD. Repairs first, improvement and modification later.

There. Given Ali says they are knackard in the post above yours, how is an LSD going to help?

As mr loo says, repairs then mods, if someone had mullered brakes and wanted a map which would everyone be telling them to get. . . .

Matt

If the coilovers are actually 'knackered' it's obvious to fix them first. If you just don't like the feel of them, then the LSD seems a better bet, and suspension upgrade in the future (much easier job).

As much as i'd like to say LSD, get the coilys sorted first, and see how it feels after that.

I really couldn't decide so went ahead and ordered both KW V2 Inox coilovers and the Quaife LSD from Awesome GTi (thanks Al). :)

Just upgraded the coilovers to V3's instead of V2's as they were only a little bit more. :)

There where? Rofl Luke doesn't say they are broke in his op just I'm going off that :) not need to be petty lol

Tip: Read the thread before replying.

I still don't understand how an LSD will "make the coilovers much much better". But then I'm not sure you understand what an LSD or coilovers are tbh

Matt

Providing the current coliovers are not dangerous then I would wait until you can get both fitted at unit 18 in one go.

Luke has a suprise for you all.

He's bought a Micra ??
