The LCR splitter does look good, but I just think it needs to be wider.........imho of course.

Yeah I was never 100% happy with the LCR but given the low cost and easy fitment, its a no brainer and resolves the front "chin" quite well.

I have posted in another topic that I may get one and cut it in the middle and try an fit a 'filler' section (I will colour code it anyway) if that fails I will remove the entire centre section and just fit the 2 ends.......

Sorry to modify your picture buddy, just easier!

Just a thought.

buy 2 splitters, (which is still cheeper than most) chop approx 55% ish over centre.

make it as wide as required and only have 1 joint in the centre, which I am sure an inventive soul could cover with trim / wrap / edging of some sort.

and another thought.

clean up the two remaining end pieces and sell them to someone else to fit per picture above.

LOL!!

I knew there was a reason I didn't have kids!

OP just sitting here ready and waiting for the splitter to turn up from Poland! I emailed the seller and basically said "this had better fit with no buggering about" and I got an affirmative response so we'll see!

roflmao,

GTI in back seat

My car was legally parked as it backed into another vehicle.

Bloody hope not having just shelled out for it! I reckon ANYTHING can be made to fit..............

Would appreciate some more info though.

I'm in two minds over the grille - I like the fact it would match the lower grille and I like the fact it's slightly inset however it's from Superskoda which means its overpriced and the idea of cutting the bonnet release sucks. Surely they could have figured out something a little better than that.

I'm quite philosophical about modifying and generally swerve body mods as I think they lower the vaule of the car however I do like both of these options hence I've gone for the splitter for now and will let you know how I get on.

Other mods are refitting the Columbus, MDI and BT from my previous vehicle, adding some footwell and submarine lighting and thats about it!

colour code that big silly mirror they wrap around the grill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do like this splitter though :D but black hanging off the bottom of a blue car ........ look amazing on a black magic and maybe those cars they forgot to paint (white) but I await your results before I get one :D

The LCR does fit the FL...it just takes a bit of footering around with.....namely you have to heat it up and bend it!! :)

Fitted the splitter this evening - sorryfor the crappy iPhone pics........

Fitting was 20 minutes and it was EXACT - no trimming or buggering about.

Looks okay but can't help thinking it would look best on a black vRS. Not sure spraying the splitter blue would look better either

Like the look of that, might be tempted.

how did it fit, screws or brackets

When it arrived I thought "oh s*it what have I done" but once its fitted, it looks cracking. I have the option of colour coding but I'm not sure either!

Two people to line it up, some duct tape a 2mm drill for pilot holes and screws. You could glue it as well but I added some additional screws and it's solid as a rocl!

I wasn't expecting to like that, but you know what, it looks ok!

:-)

I'm the opposite rob, I was expecting to like it (and maybe buy one!) but now I see it fitted I don't think i'll be making a purchase.

Maybe some more/better pics would help.

Is it gloss black? I can't tell as I'm using my phone, if not I think would be the way forward.

that looks very nice :)

leave it as is though - don't color code it!

Is it flush against the profile of the car from the side or does it stick out?

  • Author

OK, it's textured ABS so not super shiny but not matt.

It has little "DTM" type corner lift "canards" which stick out and the front sections is almost flush. I can't emphasis how well it fits - it curves to match the undertray exactly and for those of you with experience of the LCR - this is much stiffer and made to fit this vehicle.

It's defo growing on me and even the missus (thanks babe for helping tonight  ) said she wasn't at all sure at first but once she'd seen it fitted, she thinks it looks factory fit.

It also makes the car look dumped on standard suspension. Look the car is not even a week old and only has 300 miles on it and I really had to think long and hard before fitting this!

I'll try and take some more shots tomorrow............
