Fabia Active Aerial

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've got rubbish radio reception on my standard Symphony head unit. So, two poss solutions:

-the active aerial base has died

-the active aerial is not getting power.

Does anyone know from where on the head unit the power comes from? Does it come straight from the coax aerial connector, or is it from one of the other wires and them joins in to the aerial cable somewhere hidden from view?

Cheers

I have the same problem with my symphony head unit. Absolutely rubbish FM reception. (I use my iPod mostly but sometimes radio is a nice change!) Would be nice to know if there is a way of improving this without spending a big chunk of money.

The power to the Aerial amplifier is not a Direct current (DC) which can be measured on a DC voltmeter. I believe recently it has been mentioned on this site it is a pulse type voltage, which can only be measured on an Oscilloscope, and unless you use a scope on a regular basis ,and know how to interpret the results ,you still will not prove anything.

The easiest way to test is to swop out the aerial base with another good one.
