Well, in answer to the problem, think we found it. Ended up removing the scuttle panel and the wiper assembly completely to find gunked up/blocked up drain holes and water must have been going down the rack/column and some of it getting inside. Now all cleaned out, some of the holes water was getting down blocked up with some gunk, and all replaced and should be OK (with new angle sensor)

Just glad to have P.A.S back again.

i had same problem regarding blocked scuttle with another fabia at work. on tht occasion water was coming into the car through the pollen filter housing it was like a waterfall. owners should keep a check on the scuttle in future because it seems to be common across the VAG range

Oddly enough, I had nothing coming inside the car's cabin.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread, but how can you tell if the sensor is on its way out?

Checking the chamber around the wipers for free drainage is on all Skoda/VW service inspection reports

Intermittent crashing of the power steering system, crashes getting longer and longer, and eventually it dieing, permanent non PAS, and light on dash. VCDS will also confirm this

My car has not been serviced at a Skoda dealer for a LONG LONG time! :D
