I had the EGR mapped out also when I had remap

Is there much difference when turning the engine off? I've heard it can be quite violent without the ASV.

I have noticed a slight difference yeah nothing major tho :)

Been see an old mate today and decided stick my car on the ramp to fit some handbrake helper springs and check on my crank case mod.

Well this is the breather hose doing its job nicely.

IMG00252-20110913-1527.jpg

Ordered some help springs off a Toledo and retro fitted them. Gave the lever a clean up and a squirt of grease. Done the job nicely and the handbrake is much firmer to pull on now.

Damn modifying addiction!

A friend has decided to treat me to some bits and bobs after I did some serious eBay selling for him.

So I order a Whiteline 20mm RARB, Super Pro 70k dog bone mount and a black coolant cap! haha.

WOW you have really got the bug bad but all good stuff so far

You certainly have been busy in the last few weeks since getting the car. The mods are all very sesnsible and look great. Im very tempted by the PD160 intake but its a lot of money for such a small mod! Did you get it directly from Seat?

TPS I use for most my OEM parts mate £83 for the intake parts :) decided it was pointless waiting for one of the few that come up second hand.

Where did you get the intake pipe from for £83?

I have now got my Thule bars and racks so went for a ride up Cannock early Sunday morning.

IMG00269-20110925-0800.jpg

When I got back I went over to a mates garage to fit some new goodies.

RARB

Then fitted the SuperPro dog bone bush.

After

Rear feels a lot more positive now when loading up into bends, I will say that the hardest settings on the RARB isn’t really the best setting unless you get an up rated FARB so think I will knock it down to the middle setting until I get around to fitting a 22mm FARB. The dog bone mount hasn’t added much vibration to the cabin at all but when I turn the car off even with clutch engaged it does shake a little (I removed anti shutter) nothing major though. The dog bone mount really does help with getting the power and torque to the wheels with a definite difference between before and after.

Also while the under tray was off I removed all the lower boost pipes and noticed one or two joint had been leaking so I cleaned all pipe work and also inspected the SMIC which was remarkable very clean. When I reconnected everything I used a smear of black silicone sealer on each joint to help prevent future boost leaks (with it been silicone its not perminant).

Im going to start ordering parts for the front end shortly and I just have a few questions.

Does the Ibiza Cupra R front ARB fit straight on?

It's 20mm and i've been quoted £45 including bushes.

Am I right in thinking the standard ARB is 18mm?

I'm also going to be fitting Cupra R console bushes and powerflex front wishbone bushes, is there anything else that will benifit from been changed at 87k?

  • Author

According to TPS the standard Fabia ARB is 20mm... Mmmm

Just a quick one- I'm a fellow mountain biker and ha Thule bars on my old car. Still got the Thule 591 bars for the bikes but what are the actual roof bars like to fit on and off? Are they easily fitted and come off easily as well? How long to fit etc.

Thanks

Straight forward mate, remove tabs from the gutters and the the bars clamp on with a allen bolt mech. 10mins probably to fit in total. :)
