Yeti Greenline + False Boot Floor?

Featured Replies

Thinking of a Yeti. Like the look of a Greenline SE with its low running costs, cheap tax etc but good equipment levels mixed in. However, I notice on the Skoda website and in the brochure that you cannot order the false boot floor on a Greenline! Is there a particular reason for this? Tried to ask Skoda but as yet have had no response, wondered if someone on here might have an idea. Also, anyone have any experience of the Yeti Greenline?

Cheers!

You also can't have the spare wheel on a Greenline Yeti.

But you can get one fitted after delivery. So this is probably the same as the false boot floor if you ask your dealer.

We have a Yeti Greenline on Order and the spare is being fitted for us before collection.

It could be due to weight etc to keep CO2 levels down.

There is the variable floor which is different to the spare wheel false floor. Different heights and do different things....

I thought that might be the case. We had the false boot floor fitted to our Octavia VRS prior to collection and it's been so handy. I guess it's to do with the production lines at the factory, like how certain colours aren't available on certain models.

I think I mean the variable boot floor - not the spare wheel one. The one that brings the boot floor pretty much level with the boot opening and means the seats fold down level with the floor? Although thinking about it, this wouldn't quite work as well with a Yeti, would it? Seeing as it has the tumbling seats.

You are right, neither floor works as well as no false/variable floor. I have and do use the spare floor, but I have used the car without the spare wheel bits and converted it to 'standard' without spare wheel, attaching the spare wheel to the inside of the car vertically, for when I carry bicycles.

If you are just folding the seats forward then the false floors make sense, but if you are removing them or tumbling them forward then doesn't make so much sense, because of the 'step' down.

The flat floor really would come in handy as we transport musical equipment and want to do without lifting things up and over the Yeti's high boot lip. The flat floor has worked well in our Octavia. We'd probably manage just folding the seats down and then would remove the variable floor if we needed more space so I guess it's swings and roundabouts.

Whilst I'm here, does anyone know if the Greenline has 5 or 6 gears? I can't find this information anywhere in the Yeti brochure, unless I'm looking in the wrong place! I know it supposedly has longer gearing, but the sixth gear in our Octavia is beyond fantastic on the motorway and brings good economy. Ta!

Hi,

the Greenline is 5 speed, see the Tech Spec page from the following link;

It has a 5 speed gearbox.

5th gear at about 70mph is fine in the greenline.

I suspect the engine could take a 6th gear but the re-map and weight of the extra cog would probably push up the ole CO2's.

It is the dirty one of skoda "greenline" range as it is. :D

I need to double check on mine but i don't think there is a "home" for the spare wheel under the boot floor.

There isn't, but there is a slight depression in the boot floor which they build up with foam inserts.

Result = higher boot floor and space for a spare, like all the other Yeti varients.

As the 2wd version has no 4x4 gubbins underneath, it's a shame you can't squeeze the spare wheel under there instead. :(

Thanks, looks as though you're getting good economy from yours? 62 is pretty good!

Also thanks to everyone else who's responded.

The Yeti 2wd up to MY11 shared the same rear subframe and suspension arrangement as the quattro model; so no room anyway. Since June 2010 the 2wd has used a less complex (cheaper) arrangement similar to the 2wd Golf VI, which might have allowed for a spare underneath if designed that way originally.

I've only used fuelly for a couple of fill ups.

One was a very protracted economy run and has skewed the values up a bit.

Closer to high 50's would be more like it.

Still not bad.

I don't have a spare and I've got used to having the pump/gunk (never used) over the last 3 cars I've owned.

Just jinxed myself no doubt.

CT17 any idea how much it will cost you approx to have the spare wheel.
