Featured Replies

I have a skoda fabia 2001 comfort 100bhp 1.4 ohv . The plastic cover behind the radiator has a silver foiled ridged flexible pipe (about 1" diameter 12" long . This pipe is damaged. Does anybody know the function of this pipe please?

Air con pipe.

As said before its an A/C pipe, the purpose of the foil is to stop any engine heat from the head and manifold being absorbed into this pipe.

In an ideal world this pipe and its covering should be intact - but we are not in an ideal world, my wife's Polo got its pipe covering broken as soon as it got its first dealer service - I managed to change the filter 9 months before this without needing to break this covering. So if a dealer has serviced this car then that will be why its got broken!
