As far as they go, quite a bad rat look for me.

Different!

But I don't really get the whole rat thing.

That really is cack enough to be liked by one of those air-cooled rat freaks on TheSamba or volkszones

Rat look is for hot rods and in my opinion, that is where it should stay!

Just don't get the point of it, been loads of vw's with roof racks and stuff on them lately and boy racers slamming their cars to an extent where they skip round the corners at anything above 15mph lol

You say that, but I don't know if you have been to a Vdub show or not but they all use the term "sheeping" but yet they all do the same thing

My brakedown of the Vdub scene

Edited by DBP

Examples to illustrate the above :)

What is it with BBS wheels?

Well they stopped making the wheels for some reason and the people who originally bought them where left with these super rare wheels.

Then some blokes with tea coseys on theirs heads, realised that because they are super rare they must be worth a bit of money. So they said to a person with a set... can I pay you £5k for those and will you chuck in those wrong sized tyres for £300 a piece plus the fitting cost, so £10k all in? And the person who had them was a bit of a mug, so he sold his BBS wheels for way under the asking price.

Happy with how they managed to rip off this poor chap they then told loads more blokes with tea cosies on their heads smelling of a strange 'erb to get in on this fantastic offer. So now the Vdub crew are all quids in because of how little they paid for their wheels and tyres that barely fit.

Thank god for the mugs ayh?

To illustrate,

Apparently these wheels are worth £2k, the 40yr old gentleman who was dressed like a teenage said.

They also had another set of wheels that they said where worth well over £5k which where currently getting polished for £300 a wheel, BARGAIN!!!!

They do suit that Golf.

But I'd hate to clean them.

Thats why you have winter wheels, so you can spend all of christmas cleaning your decent set.

Sorry if I seem very negative towards the Vdub scene.

But I have a mate who owns a polo and all he goes on about is this stuff and how I should do it to my car so it has put me right off agaisnt it all even though I do like seeing what they are doing with it.

I love looking at what people are doing to cars - but I wouldn't go that far, have to maintain some practicality.

I scrape car park ramps and kerbs with my bumper as it is.

v dub scene is a little boring at the moment with everyone doing the same old thing on the same old cars over and over again !!!!!

and alot of it is how big your cheque book is !!!!

big respect to the v dub guys that do all the work themselves and drive to shows and use them as dailys there the proper enthusiasts imo

Reminds me of this octavia forum of late!

You Don't see many "different" octavia threads it's all colour grill this and Porsche brakes that.....

Fair enough it's what works I suppose but how can you call a scene when your doing exactly the same thing........copying each other?

Where's all the stand out skoda's apart from steve's and des's there are'nt really any that break the mould or push the boundaries a step further.

I personally like the v dub "scene" and would rather rock those BBS's than some spiders!

If I had more cash to spend mine would be, well, better :)

:giggle: +1

I'm not saying that people's cars aren't nice and we'd all like an unlimited car fund B)

Oh and I'd love a splitty! :p

Have to agree with sivrs, find a lot of the cars on here go down the same route and seem to all look very similar and be all about making an octavia the ultimate track car which it will never be imo and if anyone does anything different It usually gets slated, seat cupra forum is exactly the same,I do what I want to do to my car for me,not to follow the trends and don't care if people don't like it and as for the rat look,I don't mind it on old school vehicles but not keen on the forced rat look but that's just me,each to there own I suppose

I definitely think yours stands out from the crowd - I like the green a lot just because it's different.

I agree with rob,

I do like yours and yours was prob the 1st non standard octavia I came across when looking for one. It's the little things like the chassis notch to get it that bit lower etc.
