fabia vrs remap mpg gains?

Featured Replies

has anyone remapped a vrs and actually had mpg gains? sorry if it's been posted before but a search turned up nothing

cheers guys

On a run I can quite easily get 55+MPG

60 isn't impossible if I'm careful with my right foot.

Before getting my map, getting 50+ was tricky, even on a very sedate drive.

hmmm, well i can get 50 around town if i'm careful now and 58 on a long run. hoping good gains then :-)

Does that mean after a remap for more BHP that you are actually getting better economy? Did you have to get a new clutch first to cope with the extra strain?

I've had a definite improvement in mpg :giggle:

Long distance runs it's really improved (cruising along 6th gear, 80mph 1900/2000 revs), but as for every day driving, I would say it's the same.

Yes it's the best of both worlds :)

So long as you're sensible with how you drive it and don't got mad for all out power, the standard clutch is fine with a map.

The general consensus is anything over 300 lb/ft and you need to be looking at an uprated clutch.

How many miles has you motor done? Mine has done 58k so not sure if the current clutch will take it....

Mine was on 84k when I mapped it and is now on 95k. This is all still on the original clutch.

It slips occasionally if I have the car fully loaded and try to accelerate hard from lower revs, but in normal use it's absolutely fine.

With our Awesome remaps we tend to see around an increase of 5-10MPG plus the increase in bhp and torque - it is all win win!!

Not only that we charge £199.00 inc VAT for a map on the mk1 Fabia vRS :)

I think it all depends on the map and how you drive it. If you drive it using all the new power gained, then the economy will obviously be worse. However if you drive it at the same speed and rate of acceleration you may find an improvement in power.

You can buy maps specifically designed for economy (eg Viezu, ChippedUK), however I have been told that you can get just as good (or better) if you choose their performance map.

depending how you drive it yes.. gun it and expect it too drop, but drive sensibly and yes you will see gains, on a 110 odd mile run i didnt see below 57mpg and that was including little bursts sitting at 70mph ish all the way home
