Black grill surround on white vRS

Featured Replies

Nah. Leave it mate.

Black and white Octavia says just one thing to me - Taxi!

I don't recall ever seeing a white vrs taxi with black grill surround?

Do prefer it colour coded but havent subscribed to it as after a few miles expect the stone chips will make it look more of a pigs ear than just leaving it chrome and not noticing them as much.

The reason it doesn't work for me is because the headlights now stand out too much.

If they were less bling then the grill wouldn't look so out of place.

Have you the seen the 'black pack' on the Fabia vRS and Monte Carlo? The majority of the silver / chrome effect inside the headlights, fog lights and DRL's is black (as well as the grill), which on the red and white cars looks ace.

I think on yours if the headlights didn't now stand out so much it would look good

It's funny actually I was up at Silbury Skoda yesterday and Justin who sold me the car mentioned the 'black pack' on the Fab vRS and that it would look good with smoked headlights so I've been thinking about this. I remember having a link to a place that supplied the film cut to shape that you applied yourself but I can't find it now.

Try this...

I can't for the life of me understand why, the vRS doesn't leave the factory with

1) A colour coded grille

2) Headlights with black/smoked inners

VW do it on the mkV Golf GTi.

It's subtle things like this that really define a sporty range, imho there is absolutely no place for chrome on the vRS.......come on Skoda, if Vauxhall can get it right, why can't you lot?

Ummm.

The black grill surround does not float my boat but a white one i think would look ok.

A black grill on a white vRS looks good  but a colour coded one looks better

Think it could look good with the splitter that wardth has just put on his.

Where is that splitter from? Any idea of cost etc?

Quite like that, would look good on mine I think.

Have a look at this topic, the last post contains a link to a group buy.

It will only fit the FL vRS though....... :(

Don't agree, not a fan of colour coding unless it's black on black then it looks menacing. Colour coding has been done to death now anyway so I wanted to do something different, I think that white on white would be blandness personified, IMO of course :giggle:

Just back from VW Festival and I got loads of people looking at it saying they liked it and that it looked different so I guess you need to see it in the flesh, so to speak. Plus when it comes up behind people in their rear view mirror they shift over pretty quick

It does take a bit of getting used to but after much deliberation I love it B)

There is White vRS near me with a black grille and black wheels which looks okay

I do like the look of the black grill i think it looks very very good :)

I had a black grill on my old race blue octy vRS & i`ve got one on my fabia vRS too ;)

It looks much better in the pictures from VW festival.

I would add one of the FL splitter that Wardth has.....

Did think about that but I am not sure about it yet; think I prefer the cupra r one that's a bit more discrete.

The pictures being so close up isnt doing any favours I think, try a further away shot Jonno?
