Where to start on Fabia Vrs?

Featured Replies

Hi guys i'm new on here and have recently bought a Skoda Fabia Vrs in magic black with full service history, two owners and 69000 on the clock. Just had a full service done to it and 2 new rear tires fitted. I was thinking of leaving it standard at first but after seeing other modded vrs's im wanting to do something myself. Can anyone out there who has a vrs and knows what to do with them give me some advice? Thanks guys!

A good clean inside and out first. Then get an updated dogbone mount bush, makes a phenomenal difference to the quality of the gear change and pick up when you get on the power.

Then get a quality custom re map, don't chase silly power. I have a 170bhp and 315 ftlbs approx and it's rather good.

My next move myself will be for some eibach pro springs and RARB.

What is your preferences?

Looks, ride height, power, drivability, track day preperation etc...

Budget may be handy too.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Power, drivabilty maybe do something to the interior?? I'm prepared to spend a couple of grand on the fabia also for the ride height the car will be used for family?? and thank you!

I got a remap by a well respected guy from Aberdeen so may not be easiest for you. Mpg stays the same really but I have been putting the foot down alot more.

Some good quality tires go a long way to.

First mod, even though it's done to death, but makes the car look mean within half hour......LCR Splitter!

Then de-chrome grille,

Then re-map = Beast!!

Check that the air filter is new. Skoda intervals are/were 40K! I change mine every 10K.

Fit a rear anti-roll bar to sort out some of the suspension sogginess.

And/or consider coilovers or a good spring/damper combination. Don't lower it more than 1" to retain some supplness/compliance and a sump.

If/when the console bushes go (front wishbone rear bush), replace with uprated, either from the Octy2, Seat Cupra or Superpro, depending on your preference.

If you haven't got it, get a member to see if cruise control can be fitted easily.

Advanced driving. Cheaper long term.
