I've still got no idea how the hell I managed to place an order on Saturday for a car sitting in Emden for immediate delivery in the colour, spec and engine size I was looking for. How on earth can they have crazy lead times like people on here are reporting and at the same tiem have cars sitting in Emden?? When I was at the dealer on Saturday there were 4 yetis ready to order, a 1.2 elegance (which I ordered) and 4 x 1.8 4x4s. It just doesn't make any sense. :wonder:

I imagine RHD UK spec cars are allocated x number of production slots throughout the year. If they cannot build a diesel customer order due to over subscription for engine allocation, they probably build petrol orders or stock for SUK instead. Hence why we have the long wait times for diesel :wonder:

Reading this having concerns of my own! placed order in Jan for delivery after 1 Sep. dealer said no build week yet, slowly feeling money slipping away from my part ex Scout TDI!.

(have ordered Yeti Elegance TDI 140 in Cappuccino Biege with off road kit and front screen demist).

aha, a diesel problem rather than just a yeti issue. In that case I was told it's down to the fact that China is taking all the diesel production (or most of it). Until the new chinese plant is up and running this will continue to be a problem. It's VAG wide I gather as Skoda make the diesels for most of the VAG cars.

I only do about 7000 miles a year so just couldn't justify another diesel. I'll be sad to see my 140PD Octy go though, it's a fabulous car. :|

Now predicted build week 39 (last week Sept) so gone back 3 weeks.I am to expect update 3rd Oct so if everything ok should be end Oct/early Nov.

Now need to find a buyer for Octavia as my mate has got sick of waiting and has made other arrangements.

ditto! Good luck with it, I have a trade in offer and have listed my Octavia for the trade in price. I would get a discount on the yeti as a cash buyer so am happy to let someone on here have the car at the trade in price. zero interest though. Ho hum :S
